After reading the reviews for this product I purchased 4 of the full/queen bags. I really only needed two, one for each piece of the bed, but I purchased a couple extra just to be safe since the reviews were mixed. My bed is a low profile queen so it is smaller than the average queen & should have fit in these bags easily. Not the case. The closed end of the bag was not wide enough so the bag would not pull down fully onto the box spring & left about 12-18 inches of bag above the top of the bed so the bag did not cover the entire box spring. Luckily I had two extra bags. I pulled the bag down as far as it would go, taped the sides of the bag to the plastic guards on both sides of the box spring & covered a small area of the box spring in the center with paper so I could also tape the bag together in the center. I then turned the box spring to the other end & pulled the extra bag over the open end down as far as it would go & then taped the bag edge all around so there was no opening where dirt, grime or bugs could get in. The bag was so wide further from the seam that I had a lot of excess bag which I folded & taped into place so it wouldn't get snagged when moving the box spring & possibly rip. Since the mattress doesn't have plastic guards I used paper to cover three areas of the exposed mattress when taping the first bag in place, before pulling the second bag over the exposed end. If I had to store another box spring or mattress, I would use these bags again but I would probably order the next size up from my mattress size & I would again order extra bags just to be safe. So for $27 and with a little creativity my mattress & box springs are protected. So in summary, the sealed end of the bag is smaller than the open end of the bag & you might have a problem getting your queen mattress to fit in this bag fully. I would recommend ordering up a size & purchasing one extra bag for each mattress or box spring you are trying to protect.

I used this bag to transport my foam mattress. In my opinion, it is just a thick industrial trash bag. There isn't as much stretch with the plastic. That is the only way I can describe it anyhow.

I rolled my mattress up and used some straps to hold the mattress. Once that was done, I slid the mattress into the bag. Holding the bag around a shop-vac, I sucked the air out and ended up duct taping the plastic together in order to create a seal. I could hear a leak already through one corner (melted seam) of the bag in which I ended up placing duct tap around the area. Air slowly leaked in as time went on (24hrs later the mattress had expanded). I used a shop-vac again to suck the air out and put this mattress bag inside of some industrial trash bags in order to keep the mattress from fully expanding while I transported it.

I made my move and successfully had the mattress stuffed in the backseat of my car for 48hrs.

Overall, I made this work however what I did with the bag isn't what it is really intended for.

Standard mattress would work alright as long as you don't drag them on the floor or anything. I don't believe the bag would hold up. If moving a foam mattress, you may want to find some industrial trash bags at your local hardware store and do what I did.

I based my rating on that it had a hole in a corner seam when it is advertised as "no holes, seals tight".

We purchased this to protect a full side futon mattress to store in the shed since we got rid of a futon bunk bed. But since we have another futon, I wanted to save this newer mattress for when the mattress on the futon still in use needs replacing. The bag fit on easy enough, using two people to place it inside. We then toted it out to the shed and then I sealed it up good using good old duct tape. I'm confident that it will be protected from everything but the heat in this mattress bag. It would have been nice to have some formal closure method that could be taped over instead of having to use small strips of duct tape at a time to seal where we had to fold the bag over. Prior to taping the fold, I used some duct tape to seal the open ends together by folding it over the top of each side of the bag where we pulled them together.

We recently moved to a new apartment and I wanted to buy a couple of mattress covers to protect both our queen mattress and the box spring since they are relatively new and don't want them to get worn down during transit. This cover barely fits a queen mattress with a pillow top if you stretch the thin plastic to the max, so we decided to use this for the box spring and then bought the king size version for the actual queen mattress. The ends will not close all the way so it's not going to keep a mattress waterproof but it will help keep the dirt off during transit. I would also recommend buying some fork lift straps to move the mattress in the bag since the plastic easily rips and there's no place to grab onto the mattress once the bag is on. Hope this helps

Did the Job, But Double-Up for Extra Strength

I bought two of these mattress bags to protect my queen latex foam mattress during an intrastate move, and they worked pretty well. I used two of the bags for extra protection, in case the outer bag ripped. Bear in mind, the material out of which the bags are made is not quite as thick as I would like, but you can work with it. Here's my advice to help protect your mattress -- use a generous amount of duct tape, Gorilla tape, or other strong synthetic tape to tape the corners of the mattress after the bag has been placed on the mattress -- the corners are areas that are subject to stress and thus are likely to rip open during handling. Also, you'll have to use a generous smattering of tape the seal the mattress bag closed -- there really is no other way to do it.

You're better off going to your local hardware or moving store and buying one there. They're both cheaper, and better quality. This thing tears if you fart in its general direction.
