"...a spirited, engaging tale that will suck readers in from start to finish." -- San Francisco Book Review

From the Back Cover
On his first crossing through the warps, Seg discovers a world rich in vita - fuel to save his dying world. Cold, brilliant and desperate to prove himself as a Cultural Theorist, Seg breaks away from the recon squad sent to protect him, to scout out prime vita sources. But to find his prize he must face his biggest fear: water.
Fiery and headstrong, Ama receives an ultimatum from her people's tyrannical overlords: betray her own kind or give up the boat she calls home, forever. When a wealthy traveler hires her as a guide, Ama thinks her prayers are answered - until a violent murder reveals Seg's true identity.
On the run, over land and water, hunted by a ruthless and relentless tracker, and caught in the schemes of a political powerhouse, Seg and Ama will have to strike an uneasy truce to survive.
The fate of two worlds is in their hands.

In the meantime, caste wars are being plotted on her world while the ruling class on his world is busy robbing other worlds like hers just to keep world destruction at bay.
I want their relationship to work out, but I'm afraid there are far to many barriers. Perhaps his world will be destroyed, perhaps the intrigue in the background will have Ama captured and turned into a slave. Maybe the ambitious Seg will be found guilty of any number of crimes against the People. I'll just have to see what book two brings.
And while the world is enjoyably vivid, what I just plain loved were Seg and Ama. These characters, and for me especially Ama, just demanded my attention, never let it go, and never let me down for sticking with them.
Thanks for such an engrossing, exciting ride!
Perron & Simpson have created a story so well constructed that it truly has an endless array of subsequent adventures awaiting its readers. Not since "Lord of the Rings", "Harry Potter" or "Hunger Games" have I been so expectant for the next book in a series. If you're looking for the next great series, dive into "Warpworld (Volume 1).
