This series is consiming my life! I am devouring one right after the other. Alinthia will be tested. Her power in increasing and when it’s unleashed, she is unstoppable.

Her training continues but the enemy is coming and it’s one they didn’t see coming. A betrayal will lead to Alinthia’s kidnapping by an unexpected captor. Cooper was her protector but he was outnumbered by a different enemy. The guys will not lay idle and let their family be torn apart. In their attempt to rescue Cooper, they were captured as well.

Alinthia is being forced to train because her captors have their own agenda. She’ll do anything she can to get her guys back. Being separated is already a weakness, but not knowing ehere they are or if they are safe, is taking its toll.

Cooper, Maddox, Beck and Dane will do what’s necessary to stay alive and get back to Alinthia. While Alinthia is being taught to summon her powers at will, Dane will make soul sucking sacrifices to keep his brothers safe until they can escape.

Alinthia will finally get the chance to save her boys rather than waiting for them to save her. Lives are always lost when a battle becomes the only way to win. It won’t be easy. The darkness will be called upon when Alinthia is pushed to her limit. It brings the power she needs to win, but at what cost?

I was on the edge of my seat for most of this one. The separation was difficult because the entire time I wished for their reunion, very well knowing that it wouldn’t be the same. Alinthia is moving toward reaching her full potential, but she struggles with control. The bonds they all share have grown and their love is strong, but one of them is weighed down by guilt and shame. Some of their enemies have been eliminated, but there are always more to come. The chosen has her protectors back, but the war has only just begun.

I should know by now that the deeper we get in a series, the more Siobhan Davis is going to test our characters- and oh my do they get tested in book 3- SD throws so much at Alinthia and the men by her side. The stakes are increasingly larger and more dangerous- the tests more brutal and heart breaking. But nothing helps solidify the unity of a team, of a family, like adversity- and these characters only get more resolved, and stronger, with every hurdle that comes their way. But even better is that we see Alinthia start to stand more on her own- to lean into her full self. Especially she sufferers, isolated and alone. But the feelings between them all- oh lawdy, the floodgates are opening, the bonds are stronger, but they still have a few hurdles yet to go.

More secrets, painful betrayals, and twists abound. Enemies are multiplying, and sacrifices must be made. And, oh my heart, does Siobhan pull at our feelings. We’re recognizing that our beloved characters may indeed be up for the challenge- but the costs may be too great. This is an edge of your seat thriller- can’t get enough!

Alinthia has been taken by a special, secret Government agency. Her boys have been knocked out and kidnapped and taken by Alandra and her father, General Arantu. And this is where the book begins, with a bang. And it never slows down!! It’s filled with twists and turns, new powers, new friends, old friends, Alinthia’s desperation to find her guys, and the horrible things the guys suffer at the hands of Alandra!

When I read this I went through a myriad of emotions and back again! I felt frustration, tenseness, sadness, laughter, anger, surprise, irritation, happiness, worry and of course feeling all warm and fuzzy. Lol...it’s hard to believe one book could pull all this from you, but this one does. It’s like a crazy rollercoaster ride, like none I’ve ever been on. It does get a bit dark at times, not such nice times. *head bowed*

Tori/Alinthia totally rocks as she trains and learns to develop and control her powers more. I love some of the training scenes! Siobhan does a really great job in writing those. I felt like I could picture them so well. With so much in this book I felt that way. I kept thinking wow, I’d love to see this made into a movie!!! The action in it rocks!!

I’m looking forward to the Audible on this!! I’ve listened to it on the first two and it is SO GOOD!! The narrators are top quality!! This one will probably be the best on Audible!!

I love this series!! It’s definitely one of my favorite series and I recommend it highly!! Whether you read it or listen to it on Audible, you will love it!!!

Be aware - RH and hard scenes also

I am not the usual RH fan, but I am the fan of YA/NA/Contemporary romance as well as of almost any type of Paranormal/Sci-Fi/etc. story and, of course, a great fan of Siobhan Davis' books. Although, RH is not the type that I would search for when I want to discover a new reading material. But this series (and this (3rd) book itself) was a surprise. Why?

First of all, the story finally developed and Tori grew more mature and felt like an adult (not only by Verron standards). Second, the decisions made by others, especially Dane were hard, but necessary, however, it was really difficult to read some of the scenes with him. I do not want to spoil the surprise to other readers and write anything more about this part, but a warning is needed - there are hard scenes that actually, if had been written more graphic, would have been nauseating. Thanks to the author that she did not write them too graphic. I already felt bad as Dane is my favorite of the boys.

Sometimes I could not understand Tori. One time she feels like real adult and forgiving person, the next - a toddler or teenage girl with no power over herself. She is such a child with racing hormones.

The ending promises more action and I even cannot think of anything that can be written more - this book had it all - angst, romance, hard decisions, mature scenes, a bit of torture etc.

P.S. I still do not like Cooper.. he is so nauseatingly in love... too sweet for my liking.

I love this series! It has a little bit of everything - action, aliens, superpowers, villains, heroes, romance, suspense, and a bit of darkness thrown in.

This book picks up right where Book 2 left off - with Alithinia/Tori kidnapped by the Government, and her protectors taken by Alandra, Zorc and Arantu. All of them struggle with being captured, and dealing with their captors the best way they can. All realise they have to play the long game, which sadly means some hard and potentially soul damaging decisions need to be made. Now it remains to be seen whether they can hold out until they are rescued, or able to free themselves, and whether they will still be the same on the other side of these dark times.

Once again, I loved the character development and world building. We meet some new players, and get to know other sides of our favourites as well. The new world they find themselves on is artistically created, as are the alien crafts and weapons (although I did have a bit if an eye roll moment with the shooting lasers from eyes - that was just a bit too cliche and unbelievable).

I enjoyed seeing Alithinia grow as she learnt, and start to trust and believe in herself a little more.

The ending was bittersweet - the reasons for which you'll just have to read to find out.

Can't wait for the next book and hopefully for a HEA for all of them.

Highly recommend this series!
