With the Shifters Unlimited and Guardians of Eden series, KH LeMoyne has become one of my new favorite authors. She writes standalone books I don't want to put down filled with strong, likable characters, an engaging overarching storyline, and HEAs for the featured characters who then have supporting roles in successive books. She provides adequate foundations to the plot to make it realistic, even when it's fantasy. For me, the only drawback to her writing style is that plot questions are left unanswered. But it also appears at least some answers may be slowly doled out as the series progresses. Whatever the case, I am left more than satisfied with the results and eager to get into the next book in the respective series.
In Warrior Reborn, Dr. Briet Hyden, introduced in book one, is working outside Sanctum for Welson, a pharmaceutical company conducting a clinical trial for a new drug for pediatric cancer patients. Because of Briet's Guardian talent of being able to see at a molecular level, she notices abnormalities in the blood work of her patients. She begins to run additional tests, which brings her to the attention of Welson and a more sinister antagonist who is working against the Guardians, and Briet in particular.
Jason Ballard is the experienced and much sought after project manager for the trial. He notices Briet's compassion for her patients and rapport with other doctors and the nurses. But beyond that, the man who doesn't get involved long term finds himself inexplicably drawn to the the petite woman in the smallest s***kickers he's ever seen. Then he suddenly finds himself in the role of protector when Briet is targeted in seemingly random attacks, but is reluctant to fully commit until he realizes the seriousness of the assault on Briet and the implications of the abnormalities in the clinical trials. But will he be in time?

Warrior Reborn drew me in with its driven and compassionate female protagonist. Briet carries the story and the weight of her world like a champion, and though at times she feels awkward and strange in a world far too human for her, she steps up to the cause and sets things right.

The backstory of the experimental medical trials introduces a terrifying enemy who would do anything to destroy the hope for humanity. As Briet moves to protect the children in her care, she puts herself directly in harm's way for the sake of her patients even though she risks exposing her true nature to the world around her.

The plot is mysterious and magical with a passionate and exciting romantic edge. LeMoyne's cast of characters are solid and believable despite their otherworldly origins, and I found myself wanting to know more about the Guardians and their tragic history.

Each book in this series introduces a new protagonist backed by familiar friends and family. I am definitely looking forward to returning to visit the Guardians of Eden as LeMoyne expands this universe and the stories within it.

After reading the first book in the series, I was really excited to begin Warrior Born. I'm always a huge fan--and I say it all the time--of reading series books in order. However, while it will help the reader to better understand the "world of the Guardians" this book can truly stand alone.

Briet, the female protagonist, is wildly intelligent. Yay! I love books where the female character is strong yet not so strong as to disregard the characters around her. She is a working research doctor in a pediatric wing of a hospital and is forced to comply (yet she gets around) specific rules in the study. Jason, the male protagonist, is her perfect opposite and champion. While physically strong, (and of course good looking ;) he has some dysfunctional family history. Finally...a couple where the woman isn't the "emotionally abused" one with the guy coming around rescuing her. While I love those stories and will continue to love that setup in any romance novel, this book allows a bit of a lovely tweak on the concept. Jason's background is enough to add depth to the storyline without slowing the pace and the plot.

I'll definitely be reading the rest of the characters in the series! If you love paranormal romance, buy the books!

This was a great book to follow Mia and Turen's story. It's well written and you can always get a good grasp on who all of the characters are personally. The passion, like in the first book, is very real and not something that's cheesy and generic whether it's in regard to romance or the every day desires of life. I can probably count on one hand the number of books I've given five stars to and I've read A LOT of books. It's refreshing to read a book from someone who actually writes well.

This is the second book of the Guardians of Eden Series. I want more of the series, but I'm out of luck because I started with book three. I loved it. Warrior Reborn is a story with action, science, superheroes and loads of romance- four of my favorite things in a book.

I think Ms. LeMoyne’s writing is fabulous. As in my other reviews I have to mention how dynamic she is with her ability to set a scene in the mind's eye.

Spunky Briet and methodical Jason made a wonderful power couple. Both of them had to overcome their own issues about the relationship before they could allow their destinies to unfold.

Although it is a series book, it reads as a standalone, giving little snippets of what happened in the previous book. Very well done.

Just thinking about the books makes me smile. Wonderful.

Now if I could only get her to write stories about the other Guardian team members.
