A Warrior's Odyssey

When the composer provides action accompaniment she often follows patterns for such laid by Hans Zimmer etc. . These are familiar. Since they are, one should strive to try something different. Nonetheless, when she creates something powerful, it truly is so. Worth listening to.
Much of what the album offers is hybrid scoring, mixing heavy electronics with modern orchestra, a combination made famous by Hans Zimmer and others. Miss Kouneva offers us her own unique contribution, giving us new depth and complexity. But there are also several tracks on the album with little or no electronic elements, and they are exquisite as well.
The album is highly enjoyable and moving, and the final track brings an exciting conclusion. Definitely worth a listen, and with mixing by the master engineer John Rodd, it is polished to the core.
