The core of this game is basically the same as its always been. You run your character through a huge battlefield, killing enemy soldiers and generals and completing objectives. The combat is a little repetitive, yes, but this IS a hack n slash so that's to be expected. It's so satisfying killing huge numbers of troops in a single swing which makes this game an excellent stress reliever. And with all the character unlocks and weapon unlocks you're sure to be engaged in playing again and again.
The story mode is actually pretty decent. The storyline revolves around you going back in time, because in present day you've lost a war to the "hydra". You need to go back in time to recruit allies to change the timeline. Cut scenes aren't bad - only con is all voice acting is Japanese only with English subtitles. But I actually prefer this to prior games where they did do English voiceacting...as the English voiceacting came off as incredibly cheesy.
There are so many characters to unlock and choose from. They all use tons of different types of weapons with their own pros and cons. Some are better at single target, some are better are crowds, some have better special attacks, ect. My personal favorite is Taishi Chi - I love his duel wielded clubs. But you can bring 3 characters into battle and swap as you see fit.
There's even a duel mode where you can fight one on one. Also internet modes are offered for standard modes...but with such a low number of players on the Wii U you'll be lucky if you can ever find a game online unless you have friends who play.
There's a weapon system to let you buy/craft weapons.Read more ›
This game is a lot of fun, and I'm a huge fan of crossover games. I get way too hyped up whenever I see characters from one franchise meeting characters from another.
If you like slashy-slashy action adventure games, there's nothing better than the Warriors series. The graphics are amazing, gameplay is a lot of fun, and there are a TON of characters to play as each with their own unique skills and weapons.
Story line: U had to travel in time to rescue your partners to to help U to fights again the resurrected Hydra
Game play: Like i said before repetitive, but addictive, every
Graphics: Actually it is very nice, the Wii U had good graphics and are a little better that the Xbox 360 and PS3 version
Sound: Really good
Additional content: well there up to 130 characters to unlock like U can read in the product descriptions but each one had al least 2 different suits and more content can be purchase an the Nintendo E-shop , including new suits, battlefields for duel mode , etc,
Overall it is a good game, like I said before repetitive (like every game in the series of Samurai Warriors, Dynasty Warriors and of course Warriors Orochi)
And then, just as everything is about to go dark, you're given a chance to fix everything with a very contorted version of time travel. Don't ask me how it works, just go with it. The whole purpose now is that you're jumping back in time repeatedly to save everyone you possibly can so you have a real army instead of tattered remnants.
There are some technicalities here though, such as someone needing to be in that spot in time to go back and save someone, so everyone goes about trying to remember what they've seen that's relevant, and it ends up being a pretty good story so far. If you don't mind wrapping your head around the whole 'time travel' bit at least.
If you like the series, this is a solid step in the story telling bit by not being a retelling of classic fiction-based-on-history, but as a new thing entirely.
If you don't like the series, why are you here again?

Not a game I like or enjoy because it is just a game with hoards and hoards of enemies which I personally don't like in games. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Amazon Customer

Though it's not for everyone, it's good fun and is easily the best "warriors" game (and I've played all of them)Published 21 months ago by Thomas Arena
