From the Back Cover
A perilous promise
Two healthy kits have just been born in RiverClan—Oakkit and Stormkit. The whole Clan rejoices, and no cat is more pleased than their mother, who immediately recognizes her kits’ innate skill and bravery.
But when tragedy befalls Stormkit and he is permanently disfigured, his mother renames him Crookedkit and casts him aside.
As the young cat grows in strength, he dreams of becoming Clan leader. Then a mysterious cat appears in his dreams, whispering of prophecies untold and destinies undiscovered. She proclaims that Crookedkit will have all that he desires—but he must pledge his undying loyalty to RiverClan.
No cat could ever have imagined the terror and destruction that would lie in one hastily made, seemingly harmless, promise.

~SPOILER ALERT~ ~SPOILER ALERT~ ~SPOILER ALERT~
I personally think that its depressing being in the 'paws' (in this case) of Crookedstar. He just watches in agony every single cat he loves, wither away from him. Also, when he was supposedly Stormkit, before he broke his jaw (Like duh, thats why his prefix became Crooked) his mother admired him greatly and hoped he would become the most respected warrior (Along with Oakkit) Then suddenly, his apperance changes and his mother loaths him, then his mother changes him name, turning him into an epic failure. And it makes me wanna jump into the book and comfort him.
It's a bit perplexing when one nice day, Crookedjaw is sitting by his father, then the next day, he has joined Starclan. Like, no mention of it. And with Sedgepaw! One chapter she's an appprentice, then the next, a warrior…
Now rapping it up!!!
Overall, this book is 5 star, but it has some twists which bump it down to 4.
Thanks for reading! :D
We open to a storm washing away Riverclan's camp, setting the scene for the birth of our titular character and his littermate. The book follows his entire life, from his dramatic birth, through the tragedies and successes of his life, and all the way to his journey to Starclan.
I found this book very satisfying to read. My only complaint is the cuts between the vital events of the book. I would have really liked to have read a little more about the down time and experienced some more character development, but I realize that this is already a long book (for this series) and adding more character development for so many characters would have made the book MUCH longer.
Overall I'm happy to have read this one and hopefully we'll get more character development in further books.
-Silverlight of Nightclan
Crookedstar is an interesting character who suffered much loss, could have been evil, but still forgave those around him. This is the super edition readers need. (Rather than from POVs of cats we already know too much about.)

This story follows Stormkit, all the way up to when hes Crookedstar ,leader of Riverclan . Also it was interesting to find out how Mudfur became a medicine cat. It's so emotional that near the end it made me start crying. I really recommend.
