I did a little research when I was looking for an acoustic. I have always liked acoustic-electrics, so I looked at them too. This was one that kept coming up for great values in the ~300$ area. I liked the look of it, the cut out for hitting higher notes, the fact that it has a built-in tuner and pickup, and honestly, the name "Washburn" lol. So, I got it, and couldnt be happier. It sounds and plays so nicely! Much better than my Epiphone Hummingbird every did which was about the same price without any of the electrics. I would definitely buy it again. When i went to write this review, I realized I had to give it 5 stars, because I couldn't think of anything negative to say about this guitar. It's just a really nice instrument and an excellent value!

I bought this guitar because I loved my D10S SO much!! I thought that it would be the same. It's not. This guitar does not have quite the same sound as my D10S. Not to take away from this guitar. The guitar sounds great plugged in...which I guess is the true difference between the two guitars. This one is able to be plugged into a sound system where the regular D10S is just an acoustic guitar.
So...to paraphrase, this guitar sounds really good plugged in but is a little lacking when just played acoustically.
As far as the build quality goes, it's hard to beat this guitar for the price. This guitar is made of real wood not particle board like some of the other cheaper guitars. The tuning pegs are nice and smooth when turning. The nut and bridge are plastic pieces (If that is a worry for you, they are easily replaced). The string pegs are also plastic. The neck is able to be adjusted by means of a truss rod. The plug in is a standard 1/4" in and the battery compartment is right next to it (standard 9V battery). It is located on the lower right bout (looking at the guitar).
The preamp is a Fishman preamp and is located on the upper left bout. It has a built in tuner that works with LEDs. Green in the middle and red to the right and left. When the light is green, you're string is in tune. It also has a display on the tuner that tells you what note you're playing. When you have the tuner activiated, it mutes the output (great for tuning on stage). There is a volume control, a bass control, and a treble control knob.

I've been playing guitar for over 12 years, and this is one of the best guitars I've ever played. I purchased this guitar sort of as my workhorse guitar one that I could bang around, work out new tunings, play outside on the beach, travel with in the extreme cold, basically all the things you would never do with your high end guitar. But I am amazed at how well this plays and sounds. For the money you can't go wrong. I've had other Washburns before, but this one stands out. I continue to be blown away by this guitar and as an added bonus it matches well with my voice which. My only suggestion is to scrap the strings that it comes with and re-string it. It is a really great value at $300. I would recommend it a guitar of this quality to an intermediate player, but at the price why not spoil the young guitarist and give him or her an instrument that will hopefully keep him/her playing for years.

I have had this model for four years and am totally satisfied with it. It has a good sound and an action that makes playing it a pleasure. It sounds good plugged in or just played acoustically. I have recorded with it, and performed numerous gigs too. The built-in tuner is a great convenience too. If you cannot afford to pay more, then just get this one and you will be satisfied.

this is a really great value! This guitar feels, plays, and sounds like a $1500+ instrument. It arrived ready to play with light ga strings on it. Nice action. Nice full warm tone. I would not hesitate to purchase again.

I own a WD10SCE/12 string and a WD10SCE/6 string guitars. and i am very happy with both of mine.
these guitars must be setup, due to the high reaction. if you have a local guitar shop in your area. it can be setup correctly
and you can tell a 100% difference in the guitar. i use my six string every gig i go to. and it plays great. i use lite strings on mine.
when the guitar is setup right plays very well.

Stock strings are nice and the value is so great. As this is my third guitar, I can see that even though there is no brand name, the quality is nice.
The box it comes in is quite questionable though and I was surprised it didn't break. After playing with it a few months, the tune is still good. The resonance it has is good to stand alone without an amp and even with one, the sound quality doesn't degrade. I like the cutaway of the guitar and the tuning is made easy and as long as the strings are stretched out a bit, you should have no problem doing minor changes to the tuning during cold/hot weather etc.

Overall great value and great for a beginner or intermediate. This guitar is the best for the price right now.

We bought this guitar from a local music shop. We were buying for my daughter who was stepping up from a 3/4 size nylon string guitar. On price, features, sound, looks, it was an easy decision. She fell in love with it right away. It's been a couple years now and we are very happy.
