You have probably seen the 100+ reviews of the other waste kings, which demonstrate that it has to be better than that other brand at least :-)
your looking at this one, for some reason, and you dont know why it has so few reviews?
Well that was me , Before i did some research and bought this specific model of wastey king.
Why did i chose THIS one?
because it is not as large as the other one, but still 3/4HP.
when researching the replacement, I noticed that the 8000 (type) was going to take a lot of the under the sink space up, that was the only issue i had left after reading the other excellent reviews.
There was This one The 3200, but not so many people buying it ??
it is still muffled for sound
it still has the easy install connect stuff
it did not need any extra parts and pieces, replaced from sink down
It came with an approprite sized elbow for going to the out pipe (distance too)
it is just a little bit smaller in diameter, and shorter.
Which allowed me to continue to use the under the sink space the same way
it has at least 1/2HP , which is all i required
it uses the stainless steel (according to the specs) food chopper guts (some cheper models dont)
Installed it perfectally (taking my time to do it exactally right) in about 30 minutes, including removing the old one, and cheating and using silicon seal on the gasket after cleaning off the gasket, for the sink hole.
Instalation was to one of those iron sinks with the white enamel paint, and Yes a better tapered gasket FOR those sinks would be slightly better IMO. but it centered, and fit very nice.Read more ›
Addendum: Calling Waste King (Anaheim Mfg) was a pleasure. Since the unit was 10-11 months old, it was uder their warranty. They provided me with a local firm who replaced the unit. I am very pleased with their service. Looking into it, it seems one of the grinders is stuck, creating a ballance problem. Good customer service earns big points with me. New unit is quiet and works flawlessly Thanks Anaheim!
I read the reviews about the In Sink Erators, which was what I already had in my sink and it was leaking. The vast majority of the reviews were positive, and all of them were about how quiet they are. I read the negative reviews, and they all were about the quality. As it turns out, In Sink Erator uses very little stainless steel and they tend to crap out shortly after the warranty is up. Then I read about Waste Kings, and the positive reviews were all about quality, and the fact that the hardware is all stainless. The negative reviews were about how loud they are. I can tell you with certainty that my Waste King is no louder than the old In Sink Erator that was in the sink when I bought my house. Honestly, how long do you plan on running a disposal anyway? It is not very loud at all, and I am not worried about it rusting away after 4 years.
It was very easy to install and I didn't need any special pieces or anything new. It fit right in where the old disposal was. The only thing I messed up on was I didn't remove the cap for the dishwasher drain and when we ran the dishwasher the first time after the disposal install we though something was wrong with the drain function. I took the disposal out, removed the cap, and reinstalled it in less than ten minutes. Easy. It works great and it is not loud.
And, above all, it was about half the price of an In Sink Erator. I have been using it for about two months now and chews up everything I put into it, no problem.
The opening to the drain (where food is put into the drain) is smaller than other products which makes it more difficult to use. Resolution is to use the existing (if you have one) drain entry if it is wider.
Another issue is the drain ring (new) that shows when you look into the sink comes as chrome, which is shinner than a stainless sink. Will proably change back to my old Insinkerator drain ring, to go back to all stainless steel and a larger opening.

This is my second one and the only reason I bought a new one is because I remodeled my kitchen. There is an 8 year warranty and my old one was still going strong after 5 years.Published 17 days ago by Linda B.
