Product Description
All it takes is the swipe of a finger. We connect with friends. We buy the latest gadgets and gear. We find out what’s happening in the world. But with that same simple swipe, we cast an increasingly expansive shadow. With each connection, we leave a digital trail that tracks our every move and milestone, our every like and dislike. And it’s not just people. Today, all major cities are networked. Urban infrastructures are monitored and controlled by complex operating systems.
In Watch_Dogs, this system is called the Central Operating System (CTOS) – and it controls almost every piece of the city’s technology and holds key information on all of the city’s residents.
You play as Aiden Pearce, a brilliant hacker and former thug, whose criminal past led to a violent family tragedy. Now on the hunt for those who hurt your family, you'll be able to monitor and hack all who surround you by manipulating everything connected to the city’s network. Access omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control traffic lights and public transportation to stop the enemy…and more.
Use the city of Chicago as your ultimate weapon and exact your own style of revenge.

Pros
+ Large and varied soundtrack and orchestral score. Stand out tracks I really enjoyed hearing were from Ministry - Jesus Built My Hotrod KE*A*H** (Psalm 69) , GosT - Cursed Skull , Lazerhawk Redline , Daft Punk, Digitalism, Smashing Pumpkins and Johnny Fiasco.
+ Original game play ideas utilizing hacking as your main tool.
+ Extremely solid combat and cover system. One of the best I've seen in a game.
+ Plenty of interesting characters to meet and interact with. The world feels very active and alive.
+ A lot of mini-games and side activities to do alongside the main story line.
+ Online multi-player is challenging and well done, similar to post Assassin's Creed 2 games.
+ Many ways to approach the different missions.
+ A lot useful items to craft to aid you along they way.
+ Voice acting is very well done.
+ Ending left open for an obvious sequel.
+ Accomplished original score by composer David Kristian.
+ Free-roaming game play and mayhem creation was extremely fun.
Cons <Contains SPOILERS>
- Downgraded graphics compared to what was originally shown off.
- Hacking isn't quite as in-depth as it could have been and the mini games tend to get very tiresome.
- A lot of really annoying music on the soundtrack as well. I felt like they were trying to hard to appeal to everyone with the music they chose. Given the premise of the game, electronic and rock music felt more appropriate than many of the selected hip hop, blues or soul tracks.
- No jumping or melee skills at all, only take-downs. I found this utterly ridiculous for a game like this. Yet, NPC's can melee you which can make things a bit unbalanced.
- Side activities can become very repetitive and unrewarding. Some mini-games are also extremely ridiculous and detract from the seriousness of the story.
- Aiden's character is rather bland and lackluster.
- Some wonky physics and invisible walls.
- Cliche' and average revenge story.
- Disappointing ending.
Watchdogs is solid new release and an excellent addition to Ubisoft's long list of franchises. The concept of the game is familiar yet fresh enough to keep things original. While I didn't particularly care much for Aiden's character or story, the game was still a blast to play. Even though the game clearly doesn't graphically match what was shown before release, it still boasts some pretty beautiful graphics. The game play is extremely engaging and delivers an open world experience you're sure to remember. I did feel at times the game tried a little too hard to be Grand Theft Auto, but falls short due to game play limitations. However, that being said the game is sure to please the majority of fans of stealth based open world action games. While not perfect, Watchdogs is an exciting new franchise for Ubisoft to explore and expand upon and I look forward to any future releases.
As soon as the fedex man delivered my package at 10:30 am, I tore (well opened carefully) the package to check out all that I had bought. I was kinda of worried that the Aiden statue wasn't going to be a very good figure and that it would feel cheap and plastic-y. But I was wrong and it was a very nice sturdy heavier statue (felt like it was made of resin, with the base the only plastic part). Next came Aiden's Mask which was wearable (which was a +), it was very well constructed *Note* - The design the mask is pretty dark grey, unlike the picture where it stands out, it isn't as noticeable and light in real life*. The art book came after this, it was very well crafted, the pictures were gorgeous and it was printed on the high glossy photo paper. Next, was the steel book, which is a slick black book with logos and pictures on the front, back and side (The inside is blue, with the left side being a picture of a mans legs with a camera torso/head, and the right side was a monkey) Inside the steel book was the soundtrack and the main attraction the GAME! As far as the value of this product, in my opinion it was worth the $130.00
I am only 3 missions into the game, but I have been exploring the city of Chicago (beautiful graphics). And I have not found one single thing I haven't liked with the game. When I first started, I kinda spaced about the whole hacking concept and I couldn't get past the first 2 cops, until I realized that I should be hacking items to get the cops distracted. I am having a blast running around stopping crimes, doing quests, and playing as Aiden in this beautiful crafted world. So far everything is tight (Gameplay Mechanics, Voice Acting, Story, Dialogue, etc.) This is definitely a game that will take you a very long time to complete. Don't rush through, and give the developers what they wanted. A play through of the entire game, start to finish, 100% completion. I would say you won't be sorry, for I know for my 4 hours so far in this game, I have not.
More specifically about the special edition, I really appreciated the little bonuses. The art book is Hard Cover so you don't have to worry about pages getting messed up, and the art is pretty cool. Honestly my favorite part was the face mask that comes with it. It seemed a bit small at first, but it's made of a rather elastic material so it stretches pretty well. It's pretty comfy and definitely keeps your face warm. Just... don't forget to take it down before you enter any stores... jumpy store owners may think you're robbing them... then you have a stupid story to explain to the cops... not fun.

Since I got it for a low price, I give it a 5 stars, but I wouldn't recommend paying full price for this game.
In regards to the game now, Ubisoft managed to create a very good open world game with a new twist: the ability to hack your way in or out of situations. This certainly adds a new dimension to the usual shoot and kill action. The game however is not without flaws: for me, the main problem remains its main character and storyline: Ubisoft has created some great open world games over the years (like the Assassin's Creed series), but their main weakness always seemed to be character and story development. In Watch Dogs, you play Aiden Pearce who throughout the whole game shows himself as a one dimensional and emotionless freak. Having said that and after completing 100% of the game, I am still quite satisfied overall. The game had some great missions (and an even better multiplayer platform), even though its main campaign never truly lifts off. This game was released back in 2014, so it's not worth paying a high price for this set; but if you can get it for $60 or less, then you won't be disappointed.
