Author of “The Entrepreneur’s Garden: The Nine essential relationships to Cultivate Your Wildly Successful Business”
A wonderful insightful book!
A wonderful book! I forced myself to put it down a couple of times because I didn’t want to stop travelling vicariously with the author. Gallagher has written a memoir that takes to many beautiful countries but also on her journey of family loss, health and commitment to learning. Her gifts as a healer and gardener add to the beauty of the book.

Brigid P. Gallagher’s “Watching the Daisies” is not only an armchair travellers dream, it is also a mine of information for anyone suffering from symptoms of fibromyalgia, fatigue, aches and pains, and irritable bowel problems in particular. Brigid is also fortunate enough to have a kind of sixth sense and can tell if people are ill or healthy by the colours around them. She is also an expert on natural medicines and horticulture…
Author of “Waiting in the Wings”
A thrilling and informative memoir
What a great story! An alternative treatment pioneer who perseveres through countless personal and medical challenges to learn and help many. This book is extremely well written and you won’t be able to put it down. It is a charming read and makes you feel that you are everywhere Brigid travels from the UK to Majorca, Spain and much more.
It is also a primer on alternative healing techniques from reflexology to crystal therapy to aromatherapy to colour therapy to auras.
You will learn about the author’s battles with various medical conditions from dental abscesses to depression to fibromyalgia and a lot about the history of alternative practices such as Bach Flower Essences and Electro-Crystal Healing.
One of my favourite parts of the book was the description of essential oil treatment and the fact that” chemical constituents of oils” travel up the olfactory nerve to the limbic system of the brain and so can affect “memory and emotion.” I thus learned scientifically why and how this type of therapy actually works.
All in all, this is a wonderful read that will teach you a lot about yourself and personal stamina and alternative treatments. Don’t miss it.
