About the Author

In the spring of 2013, Jillian Jacobs changed her career path and became a romance writer. After reading for years, she figured writing a romance would be quick and easy. Nope! With the guidance of the Indiana Romance Writers of America chapter, she has learned there are many "rules" to writing a proper romance. Being re-schooled has been an interesting journey, and she hopes the best trails are yet to be traveled. You'll find a bit of her husband in her paranormal series, The Elementals, as he's a chemist and has to answer all her, "Could this really happen?" questions. Water’s Threshold, the first in her Elementals series, was a finalist in Chicago-North’s 2014 Fire and Ice contest in the Women’s Fiction category. Three things about her: She’s a Tea Guzzler, Polish Pottery Hoarder, and lover of all things Moose. Her current positions with Indiana Romance Writers of America are Program Chair and 2015 Conference Co-Chair. The genres she writes under are: Paranormal and Contemporary Romance with suspenseful elements. Jillian is also part of an Indiana author group, which posts videos answering questions readers post for writers. Visit The Juicebox Dialogues on YouTube for some sassy video fun with romance writers.

I won this novel on a blog site, and I'm glad I did. The story ideas were creative and original. I like it when a book surprises me. Pros sometime say that a story's only as good as its villain, and Quint was SOME villain. The author did a wonderful job on the Elemental's new recruit, Terran. Great characterization. Her action scenes pulsed with tension. My only comment is that some of the other characters could have been fleshed out more, and occasionally, the writing could have been a little more polished. But the actual story swept me along. A fun read!

I struggled thru some very mixed emotions while I read this book. Although I still on the fence about certain parts, overall is was a pleasant read.

The concept of the elements being controlled/ manipulated by a supernatural being that is one in the same as them, was very interesting. I found the idea very refreshing and having lots of potential. I did how ever struggle with the constant mass confusion that was the majority of the book. It seemed like the characters were constantly in the dark, acting shady or just oblivious to all that around them. I am more drawn to strong, confident and intelligent characters. I felt like all of the characters in this book might have been living under a rock or jut ditsy. Because of this, I found myself struggling to find and keep interest while reading.

In this story you meet a man who loves the Earth. He wants to make a difference, and is willing to do so at any cost. He keeps running into this mysteries woman that things never seem to add up with. The more he sees her, the more he is drawn to her in a sexual way. After a series of complicated and chaotic events he ends up meeting all the elements and is asked to join. At this time he freaks out in denial and the he is forced to make the decision and except the "true".

Over all a very well thought out and interesting idea.

What caught my interest initially was the cover of the book and then I read the description and was interested. I loved the concept of the Earth's elements and using them as characters almost like super heroes. The characters use their specific element to right the world of the wrong and evil in the world. The romance story was beautifully written and created a lot of suspense. There were many times that I had a hard time putting the Kindle down. The book was also educational discussing history and a little science lesson with the different elements. Overall an excellent book and can't wait to read this new author's next book.

What a unique idea, Maya's life source is water, not blood. Maya is a good paranormal who joins forces with a mortal man to fight against an evil, despicable, unearthly black force that is trying to destroy the environment. This book was one of those books that kept me guessing until the very end. I had to know who won, good or evil.

“Water’s Threshold” is a wonderfully written story with an abundance of self-depreciating humor, a villain so heartless and indestructible (dark matter never ever truly “dies”) it’s terrifying, and moments of prose so expressive you begin to see your own planet with the same heart-palpitating-eyelash-batting breathiness you would a new lover. I’m no tree-hugger, but “Water’s Threshold” certainly reminded me of the natural beauty and majesty of the Earth. Speaking of earth, Terran is a perfect hero. A strong, capable, take-charge kind of guy with a brain (who knew science nerds could be so sexy? Sign me up!). Maya is a beautiful combination of strength and vulnerability, with lots of cool Elemental powers I would so love to have. The story holds plenty of romance, tension, angst, uncertainty, conflict, and resolution. I admit I might have yelled at my Kindle a time or two, so caught up in the action. And I’m also caught up in the romance potential for the other Elementals. Please, Jillian Jacobs, write quickly…I can’t wait to read the Happily Ever After for Flint and Nodin!

I was given this book for an honest review. Water's Threshold is book one of the Elemental Series by Jillian Jacobs. This was a great beginning to this series. I couldn't put this book down till I got to the end of the book. I can't wait to read the second book in this series.
Water's Threshold is the story of Maya and Terran. Maya is a water elemental who helps to protect the Earth and innocent humans. Terran is a human scientist that is also trying to protect the Earth.
Terran and Maya are fated to be together and fight side by side. Terran fell in love with Maya as they fought together. They fight the evil Quinn and win. Terran becomes the Earth elemental.
I give Water's Threshold 5 stars and would recommend this book to everyone that loves paranormal romances.
