Kit is really simple, instructions easy to follow.
*Bacteria test: fill the vial to the demarcation line, close, shake, let it sit for two days.
*Nitrate, nitrite, pH, hardness, chlorine test: dip the testers into water, remove and hold level 15 seconds.
*Lead, pesticides test: the dropper is a little tricky, but practice once or twice to ensure you fill the reserve - you'll drop two of these into your vial and let the test strips sit for 10 minutes. Thankfully, in my case, it is very clear my water tested negative for both.
I'd buy this again if necessary. If anything tested positive, it's at least a good indicator to seek some professional help from a lab before panicking.
So we were able to figure out what we needed, the instructions were generally clear and the packaging kept the different parts intact. All in all it took about 15 minutes to do the testing, and then you wait 2 days for the bacteria test, but all other tests can be read in that 15 minutes.
I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the tests, but I'll come back and comment on that if I decide to get an independent test completed as reference.
Some have complained that they expected multiple of each test in this package, but nothing in the description creates that impression. It does perhaps speak to what you're getting for your money, though, and for that reason I've docked it a star.
It has these two lines that turn blue and a reading with only 1 line dark blue is a negative and a reading with 1 dark blue line with the other light blue is also negative. If you get the one dark line and one light line your left wondering if that means you had some lead and was it a close call on the pass fail. There is nothing to clear this up in the instruction. One additional sentence in the instruction would have helped. It is an adequate course screening test that may function fine for telling if your lead level is below the EPA limit.
