I bought watkins rootbeer extract that is natural flavors, Zatarain's, and Shanks. All 3 were good. Shanks tastes more like rootbeer soda than Zatarain's. Watkins rootbeer extract blew them both out of the water. It's about 3-4x more potent than both of them, natural flavors, and to me it tastes more like actual rootbeer than the other two. On top of that, when you calculate the potency, it's actually cheaper than Zatarains and Shanks. As an added bonus, Watkins is clear so there are no colorings or other unhealthy ingredients like the other two.

My wife and I buy club soda from the store, put a dash of pure stevia powder bought on Amazon, and use this extract and it tastes just like the Zevia rootbeer you buy from Walmart. Delicious.

I do not have any against this product. It is good and it works well. We use them to make cookies and buying from Amazon has always been cheaper!

However, for anyone who wants to buy more than one at a time I want to put out a warning to you all. I have bought the almond about 16 times, pure Vanilla 4 times, and a bottle of clear vanilla 6 times. I never brought more than like one or two bottles at once. 3 has been my max. But almost every time if you buy more than one it gets damaged in shipment. I have been buying one waiting a few days and buying another. I will never buy more than one at the same time ( even then it doesn't work it will still get damaged) ((Also I don't know if this is just my issue this was just my experience))

Years ago I purchased a vanilla product from a farmers market that was really good. Couldn't find it ever again. I have used Watkin's red lineament in the past as a bracer and knew that Watkins was a product that has been around since after the 1800's or there about. So I tried the vanilla and was very impressed and pleased not only with with the clear taste out of the bottle but also how it reflected in what I had prepared! Yes will buy it again. Good stuff!!!

good value vanilla extract shipping left a lot to be desired; most of the vanilla was gone from the bottle by the time i got it and the shipper had wrapped the deliciously scented, soaking box in a plastic bag and delivered it anyway.. I was able to get a refund though.

How can you go wrong with the Watkins name. Their vanilla is hands down the best vanilla that I bake with. I have used other, more expensive brands, but really like that theirs is quality and holds up in the baking to give you a very nice vanilla flavor. You don't have to guess if there is vanilla in your baked goods.

I didn’t realize there are very different qualities of vanilla, and I’ve always used basic vanilla extract from the grocery store (thank you McCormick’s for your years of service!). This is really pure vanilla extract! I have mostly used imitation vanilla before, but I heard that it is made from petroleum, so I switched to the real thing! This is very different from imitation vanilla. I found out the hard way how powerful this stuff is. If your recipe calls for 1 tsp of vanilla, try just a couple drops of this stuff. The flavor is so intense that a little bit goes a long way!! That's a really good thing so your bottle will last a much longer time. Overall, I love this and definitely recommend it!

Of course July was strawberry month, and I made several strawberry inclusive cakes. But you can't always put fresh strawberries into every element of a cake - so I would use this extract in the cake batter with a little pink gel food colouring - or in the buttercream, meringue or mascarpone/whipped cream frostings - and then use fresh strawberries in the filling between the layers and as garnish on the top of the cake. I wondered if this extract might taste weird beside real strawberries, but it does not. It absolutely tastes like strawberries and complements real strawberry elements in a dessert. On my second bottle already.
