NEXTY Pipettor features the unique Turbo Dial for fast and accurate large volume changes. -Ergonomic Design -Lightweight -Short Overall Length -Turbo Dial -Locking Lever Pipettors also feature a locking mechanism that prevents accidental discharge NEXTY's mushroom-shaped push button reduces repetitive stress on the thumb. The unit accepts any standard tip including Watson tips. The short overall length means convenience when working on a clean bench or under a hood. The pipettor is ideal for large volume and single-handed volume changes, and the color-coded push button distinguishes the sample volume.

I really like being able to adjust the drop size using the large increment wheel AND the small increment dial that is also the thumb button. The pump action is stiff but I am unsure how this compares to other pipettors. The small locking switch under the large increment wheel keeps any accidental adjustments from happening on the fly. The body is a nice compact size with a comfortable formed grip that feels substantial in the hand (heavy duty). The finger guard extension above the grip helps to reduce accidental increment changes to the large wheel, by the index finger, in case the lock isn't engaged. The design of this pipettor is well thought out in the most important ways regarding functionality and I have been successfully using bulk pipettes with one minor complaint.
Now for the criticism:
1. This issue is due to me having large hands - I wear an XL glove size and I can just barely palm a basketball so my hands aren't freakishly large, just larger than average. When I hold this pipettor barely low of the thumb wheel guard, a small portion of the fleshy side of my hand extends just below the outer casing. When I eject a pipette tip with my thumb the fleshy side of my hand sometimes gets badly pinched in the small cavity that opens just below that outer casing. The spring action on this is solid so that pinch packs quite a painful sting! If you have large hands like me I suggest you deal with this shortcoming by choking up as far as you can or purchase a pipettor without this design. I avoid the painful bite by holding the pipettor with three fingers and eject with my left hand or by holding the pipette as high as I can against the finger guard. So essentially, if you have big hands like I do the convenience of having a thumb ejector with this design is less of a luxury.
2. This second complaint is more of a minor inconvenience but it might be annoying depending on your personal work process with regards to "flow"- The pipette tip ejector thumb button is attached to an inner ejector sleeve that pushes/ejects the pipette tip off of the pipettor. The inner diameter of this ejector sleeve is larger than the outer diameter of the bulk pipette tips I am using so occasionally this sleeve envelopes the pipette tip instead of ejecting it. This is a minor beef but it can be annoying. Not an issue if you buy Watson pipette tips but they are considerably more expensive and harder to find.
I think the painful pinch could happen to anyone depending how far down on the casing you hold the pipettor but for most people this won't be a concern at all. Watson should modify this design for large hands by extending the outer body another half inch and tapering it. That said, this is still a good pipettor for the price point and I would recommend it for anyone wanting a solid performing and highly functional device. Watch that ejector, it has teeth!
