Installing Your Water Heater Service Kit

Hot Water ValveThis valve can be identified by the red insulator handle. The top should be connected to the tankless water heater. This should be installed into the hot water outlet on your water heater. |
Cold Water ValveThis valve can be identified by the blue insulator handle. The top should be connected to the tankless water heater. This should be installed into the cold water outlet on your water heater. |
Pressure Relief ValveThis silver test lever helps to reduce any pressure in the system. Sealant should be applied to any exposed threads of the pressure relief valve to ensure best use. |
Thread the pressure relief valve into the 3⁄4" port on the side of the hot water valve and hand tighten. Using a wrench, tighten the pressure relief valve until the discharge on the pressure relief valve is positioned downward on the isolation valve. |

Ordered these thinking everything was fine, but just now (3 months later) got around to opening the box and trying to install them. To my dismay they not only look used, but they are missing one of the end couplings that makes them impossible to install without having to purchase that part. So 80 bucks for a pair of valves that are used and missing parts. Awesome job Amazon/Watts. Great quality control there! Contacted Watts, havent heard a peep, and Amazon basically says your S.O.L. if its over 30 days. Ill sure be inspecting EVERYTHING thoroughly now from Amazon the moment I get it. Ridiculous!

Hi, I purchased a tankless electric water heater and this product was recommended. Because I knew nothing about how any of this stuff works I had a contractor come out here. He looked at these valves and said they were not a very good design but installed them anyways. The cold water one kept leaking albeit barely. He stopped by three different times and finally explained to me that because of the poor design in the thread being stripped I’ll have to purchase some new ones. The new ones had a much different design(picture attached) but soon as he hooked him up they didn’t leak. Do you know it’s been up and running for three months now I’m happy that I have electric tankless water heater I feel terrible contractor had to come out here three different times. I’m giving this to stars only because I am a person that doesn’t understand how these things work I just know it didn’t work.

The box was clearly opened before and the o-ring in the hot water is missing which causes an improper seal (which would lead to a leak). Unable to return and replace and had to purchase the replacement part myself.
