deaths in hospice, hospital, settings and their investigations are central themes. There is a complicated ending but if read carefully it ties all the
clues beautifully together. Crisp writing style, good character portrayals, and excellent plot make this a highly recommended read.
Mallory is assigned to investigate possible narcotic thefts at Stokely Hopsital, while Alton assists the FBI in investigating several suspicious deaths. There were some red herrings thrown in about the possible interconnection of the cases, but it seemed more as an added on afterthought than an integral part of the plot.
The big reveal at the end was anything but. It was not in the least surprising or unexpected, which I find disappointing in a mystery thriller.
