Every person is a bundle of desires. The problem with the most of us that these desires are shallow, superficial. They are swiftly changed. Therefore, the practical ways to develop our character and build a foundation for greater accomplishments is to work with our desires. The book instructs to be exact about the things we want it life. It will increase our chances of attaining them, and will make us better in the process.
And change your life. Are you on autopilot and not reaching your dreams? Maybe your not even ticking off your "To Do" list. That dress you've been meaning to return. The email you were meant to write. The mess you never clean up.
You can be busy doing this and that all your life. Or you can intentionally set goals and work towards them.
This book is very old (modern reprint), but the principles endure in today's world. It is old school preachy language. He tells you that if you have no self control, you have no character. Whoa, I can't imagine any current book pointing fingers like that.
Forming new habits or breaking old habits can be difficult, but the author gives advice on how to take the necessary steps in the right direction. You can forge a new and better path. The necessary ingredient, "willpower!"
If you want to change your daily habits, change your character and become a focused individual and reach your goals in life; develop Will Power.
