I am very happy to receive and review this book. First, because the author gave me a copy for a birthday present. Second, because the book is good.
By good I mean this book covers very basic, very needed, and often overlooked practices every business should address. It's a basic idea to have a business plan, and yet most businesses do not have one. The same is true for having a way to manage referrals, thank customers, train for improvement, and communicate with your staff. All are basic, all are necessary, most are left undone in the busy-ness of business.
So why 5 stars (besides I got this as a birthday present)? This book gets the extra love because every chapter includes questions to help you learn, decide, and act. It's half-book, half-workbook, and your business will be better for it.
Mary clearly understands business and the importance of structure in order for sustainable growth. This short but very concise book is great for anyone who is looking for a step by step guide to create more clarity and direction in their business.
I like the concise format of practical tips that are not dependent on the ups and downs of the economy to profit and be productive in business. I like the question and answer sections for the reader to develop their own plan of action.
15 Ways to Grow Your Business in Every Economy is so practical. Mary reminded me of areas of focus I had forgotten and gently nudged me back to the basics as an entrepreneur. The chapter on Adapting Olympian Traits was so appropriate. As business people we don't often think of ourselves as Olympians, but that mindset will help us achieve our goals. The worksheet format was very helpful and I find myself going back and re-reading the goals. Great for business owners whether starting out or needing a reminder.
In 15 Ways to Grow Your Business in Every Economy, author/speaker Mary C. Kelly asks the important question, "What would make today fabulous for you - in terms of running a business and/or product development? She leads us through action steps to generate fees, dealing with rejection, identifying goals, values and commitments and so much more. From "Market While You Sleep" to "Throw Social Media Candy," Mary tells it all. This book is a must-have for today's business owner.
If you are looking for a practical roadmap to take you from pit row to the winner's circle as you grow your business, then this is the book you want to order. Mary will challenge you to consider what you do, how you do it and guide you on the path to success.
