I have a My Book Essentials that I needed a power cord for. This looked well reviewed and even had the exact model number of my harddrive listed as a supported model. As soon as I plugged this in, the ac port on the harddrive started SMOKING. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I waited a few minutes and tried again. It was smoking within seconds. Please beware when using this and stay attentive. If I hadn't been paying close attention, this could have ended very badly.

This ac adapter cord works great, The design is so much better, it has a blue light that lets you know its on, The base of the plug is so much more easy to plug in & unplug, which only takes one hand.
