Jane begins receiving communication from her father on the flight from the east coast, where she lives, to the west coast, where her father and stepmother lived. She allows the communication to come to her, not understanding what it means. She begins a journal, and hte communications continue to come. Her father speaks of the beyond, and how happy he is. He says he never intended to leave his wife of forty years, but he did. He talks about the wonderful energy where he is, and his spiritual helpers.
Through Jane, her father is able to help his wife, Angelika, to be comforted, to know that he will always by her side, and to eventually transition out o her body with ease. Jane's relationsip with Angelika changes drastically as she spends time with her in meditation, sharng her father's messages.
Jane also receives messages from her children's father, which she journals and gives to them. He regains consciousness long enough to heal his relationship with Jane and each of their children.
I was impressed with this book on many levels. It was written from the heart, and shows that we can communicated with those who have crossed over. There is also discussion of what the afterlife is, as expereinced by Jane's father. The energies that are there to help us, and the energy called the "oversoul".
It is also helpful to those who channel, or receive these tpes of messages. We need to know that they are real, and what we are to do with them. And sometimes we need to realize that we are not to knwo the why of things, simply to report what we hear.
This is a gentle, caring story that is something that we all need to hear.
I admittedly began reading the book with a grain of skepticism since I tend to consider communications from the beyond as vague and impossible to prove as well as prone to exploitation. But as I delved into this book, I found that it echoes and expounds upon many of the deepest spiritual insights I have received in my life: the concept of the oneness of all experience and all life, the continuity of our consciousness from this life to the next, the shining healing power of love and forgiveness and the imminence of spiritual transformation at any moment of our earthly existence as if our physical life is just a thin veil which can be penetrated at any time by a vast universal awareness. So why not communication with someone who has departed life as we know it? If we are all one, then there will be many more mysteries for us to unravel!
Jane's account is told with sensitivity and attention to detail even while she remains true to the profoundly beautiful, vibrant and often blissful transmissions that she receives from her departed father. Already having submitted to a daily meditation practice for many years, she gives herself up to the process of receiving the communications over and over again, recording them faithfully and then passing them on to her dying stepmother thereby easing her transition and even making her anticipate her own passing with joy! What a remarkable and loving gift! The account is peppered throughout with Jane's own doubts and questions about what she is receiving. It is her desire to share what is coming through her that keeps her true to the task. Her book provides hope, comfort and healing not only to people in mourning and people who are dying, but also to people everywhere who fear death and what lies beyond it. This book will change the perception of death is an ending. I would give it more than 5 stars if that were an option.
I read this book slowly, a bit each day, savoring the unearthly beauty of the information and letting it percolate through my daily activities. I mourned when I was done, but rejoice at the fact that I can pick this book up again and again to re-experience the magic and the mystery.
