As someone who has always been scientific minded and tried to always use reason, logic and rationality in my thinking this book presented more of an esoteric point of view. In my later years I have tried to become more open minded and this interesting 285 page volume presented various issues as to why one might believe it is possible our consciousness survives what we know as death.
Some of the thought provoking chapters in this book includes the following: The reason for living life on Earth, becoming a skeptic is easy, the reality of life after death, trusting the world’s greatest minds, heaven is closer than you think, reconnecting with those you have loved and lost, surviving grief (a very informative chapter), It is all in your mind, 10 daily habits to super charge your life and other good information.
If you are seeking a unique book about life, death and beyond you may want to check out this volume.
Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Martial Art and Warrior Haiku and Senryu).
Champlain, now in her forties, has the heart of an adventurer, being an author, owner of a coffee and chocolate company in Connecticut, and the hospitality manager for a traveling race car team. Mixed in with the responsibilities implied by this resume, she is also a fearless seeker of truth. She embarked on a 15-year quest to prove to herself, using science, medicine and personal experience, if there is life after death.
To answer her own skepticism, Champlain attended courses such as Electronic Voice Phenomena, Internal Family Systems Training, Hypnotism, Medium Mentorship, and many courses sponsored by the Landmark Forum. She learned about such concepts as near-death experiences, remote viewing, supernatural dreaming, the Soul Self and the Voice, neuro-linguistic programming, angel cards, and soul groups. She studied the major religions' beliefs on life after death and read widely titles such as The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, The Idiot's Guide to Communicating with Spirits, and Life After Life.
Somewhere along the way on this quest, Champlain the skeptic transitioned into Champlain the believer. We Don't Die details her journey in a very intimate and warm way, taking us along for the ride like a trusted best friend, sharing the ups and downs and funny stories of the journey. She doesn't just tell us what she believes, but shares with us why she believes as she does. This book is a fun, easy read of a very serious and important subject.
Anyone who has ever lost a loved one, anyone who wonders about life after this one, anyone who would like to know more about Heaven for any reason owes it to himself/herself to take Sandra Champlain's journey of discovery and belief by reading We Don't Die.
