My mother used to read this book to my brothers and me when we were little, and it has always been one of my favorites! The illustrations by Eloise Wilkin are timeless and innocent; the children's faces are so endearing. The story is all about how children can help their mommies clean house. It always made me feel so excited to be mommy's helper after reading that book. If you have a toddler or preschooler at home, this book is a must-have!

It was really hard to find this book and we help daddy. My children LOVED these 2 books as their daddy read to them nightly. I wanted these books for my children who are in their mid-thirties to share the love of these books with their children. Unfortunately locating them was hard and the price was very high but thrilled to carry on through another generation. We had lots of little golden books when my children were growing up but these 2 were their favorites.

One of my favorite books when I was a child and now my daughter gets to enjoy it. I remember reading it and thinking how I wanted to be just like Jane helping her mommy! Easy to follow and great pictures!

I just purchased this book and didnt even receive it yet, but I used to read it to my kids when they were little and loved it so much! I have grandchildren now and Im gonna love reading it to them and I know they will love it as much as my kids did. Its such a sweet innocent little book. Plus I also ordered "We help Daddy". I read that to my kids too and they really enjoyed it as I know my grandchildren will too!

Even as a little child, I could tell it was not modern and I was intrigued by it. The old pictures have a "coziness" that the new illustrations just do not seem to have. Also, the old books have vibrant colors whereas many new books are going over to the pastel pencil look. Kids are stimulated by colors. I remember drinking in the scenes of the house and the classroom - the architecture is so much more interesting in old books - and I liked seeing the little girls wearing dresses.

My youngest child is now 20 and this was his very favorite book whenever he was little. Very favorite. I never thought I would ever find it again. The condition of this book was perfect in that it wasn't brand new, of course, but that it had only the slightest wear. Just enough. I was so excited to get it and give it to him as a Christmas present. (I also added a personal touch by writing something special in it). He now has put it up so that one day he can read it to his kids....if I ever get grandchildren! Thank you so much for the book. You have no idea the memories it re-created. Oh and yes, he still helps mommy!

Though I lost my copy about twenty years ago, We Help Mommy made such an impression on me that I can still remember the text almost word for word. Martha and Bobby like to help with cooking, laundry, and even the dishes. Their mother shows her appreciation for such good little helpers, and there is still time for simple pleasures like creating miniature pies and playing in the sandbox with the children next door. This book has Eloise Wilkin's usual lovely pictures. The story has themes of respect, family, and the warmth and coziness of home life. It depicts a simpler time and there isn't a even a hint of the holier-than-thou political correctness that messes up more current fare. I love this book!

I absolutely love this book and so does my two year-old daughter! It helped me realize just how much my daughter can participate in the daily chores. Children love to take part in the cleaning and it empowers them to beable to help. Eloise Wilkins is a classic to be treasured. Her illustrastions are just so sweet and simple.
