Editor, Laura Tringali Holmes has worked her magic to help create this slick, professional volume.
We Said Hello and Shook Hands, is a must for all those who love the art of collage.
by Zach Collins, who is the foundation of this book with his 'starter' pieces built upon
by additions to his art by others, techniques both digital (computer) and analog (cut/paste).
It is not about one artist, but about more than one hundred collage artists worldwide.
Random quotes captured by Zach along the collaborative process lend a little insight to the
participating artists and illustrate too, a personal sense in addition to the art itself.
There is no doubt, this volume will maintain it's place on the shelf as a history of collage, the art
and technique of it during 'our' time.
I am pleased to have collaborated with Zach, to be a included amongst the creativity, the vivid color and the imagination exhibited in this beautiful reference.
'...Shook Hands' (through art, yes ...in person, not yet!)
The Bottom Line: We Said Hello and Shook Hands is visual inspiration; ideal for both artists and art-lovers alike. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in artistic collaboration- A must-have for contemporary collage enthusiasts.
Anyone with curiosity, and a keen eye, with be richly rewarded. The color plates are spotless and true to the life of the original works. The printing and binding are spot on. I have a feeling that this book will set the tone for much of the art yet to be made in the 21st Century.
