Day one of putting them on was a little rough, being new to them but they quickly realized they can't tap dance their way out of them. Could have saved a few gallons of milk if I had bought them earlier.
The only down side for me is that I have Nigerian dwarf goats, and it takes a little turning to position the strap where it fits snugly and us fixed to itself. I wish they made a second smaller size for smaller goats, but there is no fault in the current product and DOES work for my smaller goats.
With a new milker or a kicky one, these will save you so much time and hassle every morning while milking. Simply get the doe's head into the head stall on your stand and then attach these just above the knees on her back legs. She can balance easily but she can't kick at you. This means no literal crying over spilt milk.
These are reasonable quality for the price and they can be run through the washing machine as needed - which is a key factor when you are dealing with raw milk especially to keep it clean.
Once you get good hobbles, you'll wonder why you didn't do this before. Seriously. Do it.
I have a first time milker, and she didnt like me touching her udder, would jump and kick, bought the goat hobbles, got it on her legs (above the 'knee') and she must have felt more secure because she let me milk her like she had been milking all her life long. Whole other goat!

These are fiddly to get arranged on a goat who is patient, much less one that kicks.Read more
