I'll try to answer some questions that I had:
Yes, it's made in china, stamped right on the bottom. But it seems well built from what I can tell. The clicks on the turret are audible and I like the fact that they lock when you press down, so you dont have to worry about knocking it out of zero. Plus, weaver put their name on it, so it's got a lifetime warranty.
The glass is clear and the reticle isn't large. The hatch marks are kind of close together, but I think it will be alright. I'm not sure if they're calibrated for 5.56 or not.
It's a SFP scope.
The battery isn't a non standard, the one in mine is a CR2032.
The lens covers are junk, plan on buying some butler creek if you want some on it.
This optic is mounted on my S&W15 Sport II in a Burris PEPR mount. Unfortunately, the full package is quite heavy, as neither the mount nor this optic is exactly light weight. This should be no surprise - you don't get all those features for so little money without giving something up!
Also, regarding the batteries, this item takes a CR2032 coin-type battery. There's nothing 'non-standard' about that.
The good: Clarity is very good, excellent for the price. The turrets are large, but they provide positive clicks and can be 're-zeroed' after sighting your rifle. The illuminated reticle is very nice, but I wish you could actually adjust it to be more dim by another notch or two. Most importantly, the value of this scope is really unbelievable.
The bad: Weight, although I contributed to that problem by choosing such a heavy mount... which I am also reconsidering.
The ugly: Eye relief is pretty much unacceptable. When set on high power, I have never used an optic that was so absurdly picky about eye placement.
The bottom line: I'm selling it and looking for a lighter option with better eye relief. Lord knows its going to cost me a lot more than $150 though!
Edit to add:
There is some confusion about what this thing looks like. It is the black version of this:

I like the clarity and reticle. Adjustments knobs are lift and move and back down to lock which is good. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Richard Windsor
GREAT VALUE, GOOD GLASS, NEEDS BETTER SCOPE COVERS BUT THEY ARE BETTER THAN THE ONES WITH THE RUBBER BANDS.

Awesome scope for the price, or any price for that matter. Clear, sharp glass. Holds zero for me so far, 1200 5.56 six rounds later. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Dustin Colberg
