So these burners work great. They are evenly heating and light easily and fast
But parts eventually wear out. I've had to replace the "flavorizer" bars several times and my original SS grates I replaced with a cast iron set. But the burners are the most important part to maintain even heating and avoid hot spots. Mine still work but they've deteriorated to the point where they no longer evenly heat the grill.
This is the correct OEM replacement. Installation is pretty straightforward, as was the original assembly of the grill. I suggest if you're going to replace these, go ahead and replace the flavorizer bars while you're at it. Makes it like new again.
Here's hoping I get another 15 - 20 years out of this grill.
Bottom-Line: Brought new life to my aging Weber
I own a 10-year Weber Genesis Silver that I love, however the burner tubes were starting to rust, and clog; this despite the fact that I cover the grill at all times when not using it. I was going to purchase a brand new grill, but daunted by price I decided to rebuild the one I already owned, so I purchased the "Weber 7508 Stainless Steel Replacement Burner Tube Set" along with the Weber 7527 Stainless Steel Replacement Cooking Grates (see separate review).
I had read that one has to virtually take the grill apart in order to install the replacement Tube Set, and that is not far from the truth. Plan on spending at least an hour taking apart the current tube set along with the right hand side of the grill. Once I removed the tube set, the new "Weber 7508 Stainless Steel Replacement Burner Tube Set" slid in place without issue.
Once I has re-assembled the grill and tested for leak, I fired her up and grilled two racks of ribs; the grill worked flawlessly and it was like having a brand new grill. First thing I noticed: the grill heated up much quicker than before and together with the Weber 7527 Stainless Steel Replacement Cooking Grates, heat is more evenly distributed; no more cold spots!
The "Weber 7508 Stainless Steel Replacement Burner Tube Set" get a big thumbs up from me.
Note: Instead of using their instructions, I used the one from my weber grill and it had a quick section on how to replace them. It seemed like with the burner insturctions I was taking almost the whole grill apart and you dont have to do that.
I was surprised that after 11 years, and I cook in the winter with mine, brushing off the snow and ice, that the old burners were in pretty good shape, the cross over pipe was the problem but anyways the grill is like new now.
Follow the directions, go slow, and you will be able to replace them safely. The instructions are accurate but not transparent. I found I needed to read them, look at the actual unit, read them again, and then finally I figured out how to take it apart.
