Weber conducted a contest - a "cook off" on a dozen or so Marine Corps bases. The top three winners on each base had his/her recipe published in this book. Weber "convinced" each of the organizations that actually played a part in producing the book to donate their services. In turn, Weber sold the book directly for $10.00 - 100% of which went to Marine Corps charities!!!!
Much of the book is devoted to special maranades and rubs that the winners provided. However, the first 6 or 7 pages are called "Steak Boot Camp" Here you will find info about steaks and how to cook them!!! These pages are worth the price of the book even if you never read the rest of it!!!
