Former quarterback Lance Quaid just inherited the most losing team in the NFL. But both of them know anything more than the weekend would be a colossally bad idea—after all, the extra paperwork would be a nightmare.

I’m a huge fan of Cindi Madsen’s books, so I had snagged this one on its release day. My TBR is daunting on the best of days, so it just sat there for over a year. The second book in this series was coming soon, so I figured it was about darn time to dive in!

NICUnurse’s Rating: Just…siiiiigh. I loved it. And at every turn, I questioned myself as to how I could have just let this awesome book sit on my kindle TBR list for over a freaking year before I finally picked it up and read it. I loved this story for all of the reasons that I usually love her books: strong characters (especially our heroine), snarky humor, and a great storyline that isn’t your typical one for the trope she’s writing in. Their trip to the beach was so fun to read, but the part I loved the most, I think, was how Lance’s family welcomed Charlotte in like she was one of their own and wouldn’t allow her to be all work and no play. If you like sports romances that aren’t your typical player (on and off the field) turns into a one-woman man, you’re going to love this book just like I did.

I give The Wedding Deal by Cindi Madsen 5 out of 5 stars!

Witty Banter and a Fun Sports Romance

This was my second Cindi Madsen book and it has reinforced that I should have started reading her a long time ago. This book was more contemporary compared to the NA I first read and this book has caused me to seek out more contemporary reads. This book’s sports elements were awesome. Madsen chose to focus on a new owner and his head of HR and I ate it up. This, along with Madsen’s distinct humor she has cultivated throughout her works, was sure to resonate with me. Honestly, I feel like this book was made for me.

Charlotte has a sexy librarian vibe despite that being the furthest thing from her mind. Her rule following and moral compass are admirable and frustrating in the same breath which of course makes for some fun sexual tension.

Lance had me in his pocket from the start. His unbridled passion to turn the team around was HOT. Add his adoration for his family and I am already a swooning mess. I love a hero that wants to do everything 110 percent and Lance embodies that. Plus he gives excellent retorts making the banter utter perfection.

I really liked Madsen’s first book but I LOVED this one. This book was the perfect mix of hot, funny, and sweet.

The Wedding Deal is a fabulous read. If you love romcom's, sport and office romance then this one is for you. Charlotte is adorable. I love her by the books way. She is just amazing when it comes down to her knowledge of football. I love how she keeps her Lance in check as they work together. Lance may be an ex quarterback but he is trying everything he can to rebuild his family team. Lance is a little broken and not to quick to trust. He is doing everything he can to get his team back to the top. You can just feel the chemistry between Lance and Charlotte grow as they make their business/Lance's brother wedding week trip. I love Lance's family and the giggle moments that follow. Charlotte and Lance fit together so well. You will have some swoon worthy moments, giggle moments and possibly a little pass the tissue moment too. I can't wait for more books to come. This is a need to one click book. You will just love Lance and Charlotte so much.

I was plesently surprised at the book as I am not a football fan, however, the author drew the reader into the characters that it was not an issue. This was a PG -13 like romance novel where the essence of how the characters felt for one another took precedence over sexual, explicit details that are unnecessary and often found in many romance novels. This was well written and lighthearted. A very enjoyable read.

This was a really sweet book! Charlotte has an opinion of Lance that she realizes is not how Lance is at all. Lance doesn't think Charlotte is his type, but once he gets to know her he realizes what a great gal she is. She keeps Lance organized. Charlotte enjoys Lance and how welcoming his family is. It was interesting how they were trying to put together a football team.

I've been a big fan of Cindi's books for a long time now, and once again Cindi Madsen does not let you down with this book.
After I started reading it I didn't want to put it down.
I loved the characters instantly, Lance is a former quarterback who has just inherited a NFL team called San Antonio Mustangs from his grandfather, and Charlotte is the HR manager who has worked for the Mustangs for seven years, and she loves her forms and likes to follow the rules.
I loved how the characters developed and how a trip away for them both to his brothers wedding can change so much.
I really do recommend this book I promise you will not be disappointed.

Great fun story. Loads of humour learnt loads about the NFL. The grand gesture was sensational. Charlie and Lance are one of the best couples I have read for a long time. The reason for only four stars? The reason for their breakup was telegraphed in the lead-up. Disappointing.
As a romance reader, you know at 80% of the story there will be a bust-up. The author could have worked harder to avoid leaving clues on how the relationship would fracture.
However don't miss reading this romance it's fresh, innovative and Lance and Charlotte are a great match!

She actually had most of the technical/statistical smarts and the H respected that. The romantic connection between the main characters was genuine and so sweet.
