I loved the characters in this short story. But man, all lies....Humor and love! It was a nice change of pace for me.
After the death of Ava's mother,Ava thought it best to put her mothers house up for sell.A friend from Ava's past wants to buy the house but he has a few stipulations in mind.Mateo's grandfather is dieing of cancer and the last gift he wants to give to his grandfather is....Marriage.So he tells his grandfather he is engaged. Now he just needs to find a bride and fast.
This is a cute story of love, loss and chaos!!My what a web we weave....Could have been a great title for this one.
Despite these character issues, there were some touching moments in the story and of course, a HEA. It's a fairly clean read, no descriptions of sex, just situations implied, no profanity or violence.
Heat factor moderate.
I am big on having warnings about content. There were no graphic depictions of sex. There were pretty benign descriptions of events leading up to it. I know that there are people out there who would consider it to be too much for their taste or religious beliefs, but it doesn't even approach the level of being considered adult content. The language was clean and although there were references to God, the book wasn't preachy at all. It was about anyone trying to get anyone to convert to Christianity. I personally, don't object to Christian content, but I know that there are those who do, so I want to give each side an idea about the content.
I really enjoyed the developing relationship between Ava and Mateo as they try to bring happiness to an old man and find themselves tangled up in expectations of Mateo's well-meaning relatives. Ava makes an appealing heroine - genuinely honest and kind - and as for Mateo, his strength, loyalty, and devotion to both Ava and his family make him just about the perfect sweet romantic hero. It was a pleasure to follow these characters as they learned they deserved one another.
