About the Author
Katee Robert is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who learned to tell stories at her grandpa's knee. Her novel The Marriage Contract was a RITA finalist, and RT Book Reviews named it "a compulsively readable book with just the right amount of suspense and tension." When not writing sexy contemporary and romantic suspense, she spends her time playing imaginary games with her children, driving her husband batty with what-if questions, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

Carrigan is a strong, intelligent woman stifled by a father who only sees her as a pawn to make business alliances through marriage and to produce heirs to his empire. He is fed up with her stalling and issues her a list of names from which she is to choose a husband within a month's time. Resigned to her fate, Carrigan begins a series of dates to attempt to pick one of these men to marry, but each time she feels the pressure and her control slipping away, she turns to James to help her forgot what it is she needs to do.
James is also having problems in his own crime family, with a younger brother determined to undermine him and who would actually rather see James dead so that he can take over their operations. James would like to move the family towards more legal ventures and his younger bother is determined to keep the old ways.
While Carrigan and James' situations spiral more and more out of control, they seek solace with each other and only end up causing more problems for both their families.
The Wedding Pact is a tight , sexy read that builds to a suspenseful and satisfying end. I look forward to the next book in the series.
There is so many layers to this world and these characters. Not everything is what it seems. James is a reluctant leader. He doesn’t want to be the head of his mob family, but he doesn’t have a choice since he’s next in line. Carrigan plays the doting daughter willing to marry whoever her father chooses because it’s her duty, but she’d rather do anything else. I love the Romeo and Juliet feel of James and Carrigan’s love story. Their families hate each other, especially since it was James’ family that was responsible for the death of Devlin, the best, most innocent member of the O’Malley family.
I loved every second of this book. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series. I can’t choose who my favorites are, they all have something I need….er love. There’s no chance to catch your breath in this book and I absolutely loved that. I had a difficult time putting this book down and only did it because I had to get some sleep. This is definitely a book/series that I’ll re-read in the future. I love Katee Robert’s work.
For as long as time, it has been Hallorans vs. O'Malleys. In recent years, the fued has become fatal. After an unforgettable night Carrigan and James can't seem to get eachother off their minds. But as Carrigan has always known, she is just a pawn in her family's business. Her father has arranged for her to be married, so that he will profit from the merger. The bottom line is all that matters. James Hallorans is nowhere near the list of prospects. But willCarrigan be able to go through with the merger?
This book is well written, fast-paced and completely held my attention. It is crafted in a way that allows you to catch up with previous characters as well as propel the storylines into future books as well. I can't wait for Cillian's story!
I'm caught and trapped in this amazing world that Katee Robert has created.
Book two of this amazing series, an O'Malley gets an involved with an enemy. A sexy, blue eyed, rough around the edges enemy. An enemy with expiration date since Carrigan O'Malley's time is up and she needs to marry someone who her father chooses.
I have to say, I love that Ms. Robert is writing this story as if you were watching a mob movie. You not only get the main character's point of view, you're getting a glimpse of the O'Malley family as a whole. And although I'm not a fan of multiple POV's, this is written in a way it's essential and critical to know who's hand is at play and why.
In addition, the scenes, oh yes. Mr. Halloran will have you hoping he locks you in closet, with him.
The only peeve I have with this book, there are small time inconsistencies. Not enough to make me change my rating or feeling for the series, but it's a little annoying. Hopefully this isn't happening in the remaining books that I plan to devour for the next few days.
If you haven't met the O'Malleys, Sheridans, and Hallorans... you are seriously missing out. This is a must read series that Ms. Robert is truly luring her readers with.
