I'm usually not a fan of cheating at all in novels but I felt that Cal was genuinely sorry and really, truly loved Shelly. He talks her into giving him 8 Saturdays before she decides whether to sign the papers or not. I was intrigued to find out where he was going to take her next. I pretty much figured which way this story was going to end but couldn't wait to find out for sure. A great Second Chance romance! Short and sweet!! I love the dual POV!
I actually listened to the audible version and thought the narrator did a good job distinguishing between the male and female POV.
The rest of the story is his hardcore press to get her back within an 8 week window.
Yeah, it was sweet, and the couple are surrounded by a strong group of friends from high school with their own issues. It had a very clean-cut, latte drinking, Friends-ish vibe to it.
Sadly the most interesting character to me was Melody, the high school tramp, who is desperate to be a part of the gang. Good enough to sleep with but not good enough to hang out. Sad.
I'd still say read it if you want. Just know that things are not always as they seem in real life and real life sure as hell isn't like a book.
There isn't anything I would change about this book. Sometimes I wanted to yell at Shelly to see what was right in front of her, but I couldn't blame her at the same time. It's a great book.
My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that I typically save those for really emotional and gut wrenching books or books I'll read again and again. This wasn't one of those, but it was still a good read and I would recommend it.
This is a forgive me story, told from two points of view. I hope to be able to get the rest in this series. I think their friends are great and deserve to have their stories told.
I think the narration of this would have been better with two people.
This audiobook was given to me for free at my request from the publisher or author or narrator and I provided this voluntary review.
