While the book may not be a literary masterpiece it is a well written story about real people, real sacrifice, incredible opportunities and hope through amazing efforts that really do cross the globe. I didn't know
Peter personally but I know of him so much more through this book, he was an amazing young man who turned into an even more incredible man, soldier, brother, friend, patriot and hero. His story
is more than worth the time to read and absorb, as with so many of the stories that will never be told his is one of so many but it is one that really touches on some of the things that matter but can
easily be overlooked with the overwhelming specter of 12 years of sustained combat in wars that will take decades to measure the effectiveness or harm they've had on those who have been involved
on the ground and the unseen effects on the countless families who've given the ultimate sacrifice of a loved one who's impact on the world is changed forever.
The book is an easy read and while it might not appeal to everyone, it should appeal to those who love a great story about family, patriotism, love, friendship and the amazing impact that our four
legged buddies have on us in the most trying times and in the most unusual and unsuspecting places.
There was one mistake but it was just that a mistake not intentional, the Todd mentioned in Afghanistan is me and I'm not a SEAL nor have I ever claimed to be one, I'm an Intelligence Specialist and
have been one for over 29 years now, I have been attached to a SEAL Team from 01-03 and count many of my SEAL Operator buddies as some of the best friends a person could have, they truly stand
apart from the entire Special Warfare Community. I hope you choose to read this book and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is thinking of buying it.
