The story moved very quickly and had me laughing or holding my breath often. The suspense of the political intrigue is not overdone and runs seamlessly alongside the love story until it abruptly connects.
This book will make you feel good; take it to the beach, take it on a plane, or read it on a particularly rainy day. And when you reach the end, there's one of the best final lines in a book that I've read in a long time.
I am looking forward to another book by Mira, and thank her for a fun Saturday night read!
I am not a fan of the genre of romance generally but this book is more a novel with some romance added in.
It's the kind of book you wish for a sequel to see how and what the characters are doing. Quite the
impressive first novel, which I hope is only the beginning.
I have a few quibbles about some of the details. The horse having more of a canine psychology than an equine psychology, and some of the sex scenes felt too abrupt and oddly forced instead of passionate, spontaneous, irresistible. However, none of these ruined my enjoyment of the book, and I'd much prefer a little awkwardness in a scene that builds and moves the story along, rather than the amateurish blathering for pages and pages that many romance authors fall into.
I would read another romance from Mira Wooten.
