Major spoiler alerts ahead....

I was really enjoying the banter between the main characters. I laughed out loud several times in the beginning of the story but then...

Bad boy boyfriend gets beaten up by former motorcycle gang while girlfriend gets molested

They break up because he never told her about his gang past and for what happened to her

A few weeks later, after he was still currently trying to win her back, she walks in on him banging a girl in the bathroom stall of the pub, while knowing she was at the pub. Didn't even dawn on him to think she might walk in. Or I don't know if he really cared. He chases after her, rubs all on her and tells her he loves her. What? Seriously WTF.

A few weeks later, because she's hurting over what happened, she goes off drinking with her jerk ex and he rapes her . Wow how cruddy is the story getting? Bad boy boyfriend then carves up his face and I totally think the character deserves it, but bad boy goes to prison for assault

A yr later he gets out of prison and she meets him at the gate. They fight, make up, fight make up, etc til she finally forgives him and then bam story over

I was wanting an adorable and cute love story and that's what it was like at first, then it turned into svu- special victims unit. I'm glad the characters got a happy ending, even if it was rushed at the end but this book should have a warning label on it. Guaranteed to ruin your good vibes. Don't read unless u enjoy starting to love the characters and then everything gets crapped on

Wow, this is the first single star rating I've ever posted. My book judgement is usually better than this. The first 40% of the book was great. Enjoyed the characters. Steamy/shmexy couple. Then it was like a lightening fast ice bath to the libido. Our "hero" turns into a violent tool. I'm only half-way though this story, and I'm too disgusted to continue. Why? Because there's is NOTHING Elijah can do at this point to redeem himself. To each their own "real" I guess. Some folks like this kind of gritty, disturbing relationship. I just want to punch Elijah in his sack. Would return this if I could.

This is the story of Ana Belle, a nineteen year old girl who is unsatisfied with her life. She works at her family's bakery and she wishes for more. She wishes she could leave town and move on. She had a tough time at school after a boy she dated spread horrible rumors of her around town. This made Ana stay away from anything that could bring attention back to her. She has a great friend, a cute little brother, an a father with a biker past.
Her monotony ends when Elijah Cade arrives into town with his bike.
Elijah (Melty Eyes) is tall, full of tattoos and amazing dimples. Soon Ana starts falling for him but Elijah has a past. A dark one. When his past meets his present Ana doesn't know if she can handle it. For Ana things just get worse. Bad things happened that made me feel very sorry for her.

The first half of this book was hilarious. It has a lot of funny scenes with Elijah, Ana's dad, Ana's brother and Ana's friend (Holly).
It's super easy to fall in love with Elijah. He is a man trying to find some happiness. Even if it is short-lived. He is a tough guy and he will fight for Ana although along the way he makes mistakes (really only one).
The second part of this book is very dark and I had issues with a couple of scenes. They took me completely by surprise. I went from happy, to upset, to sad, to crying. I didn't expect it.
Hero and heroine suffered and at times it seems like situations/people were getting in their way.
The good news is there is NO cliffhanger and the end is a happy one. I would strongly recommend it.

4.5/5 Fangs

Both the H and h are weak minded and gross.... For example there's a sex scene in a dirty bar bathroom, not between the H and h. Instead, the h walks in to discover the H balls deep inside the h's nemesis. He's doing it in an effort to get over the h, though they've only been apart for a week or two. What happens next? Well, of course H chases after the h, then she allows him to bring her to orgasm.... Like, seriously?! Nothing redeemable about the characters. I will never read another book from this author if this is all she has to offer.

ARC received by the author in exchange for an honest review

To say that I liked this book would be an understatement - I LOVED IT! It has everything that I look for in a book: romance, sassy heroine, alpha male, heartbreak, smart-ass best friend...the list goes on and on.

Let me start by telling you a little but about our heroine, Ana: wrongfully labelled the town slut - which, by the way, I will NEVER understand some people do, but the world is cruel - she longs to spread her wings and leave her home, Sugartown. She is, however, almost resigned to the fact that she will live there and bake her pies for the rest of her life. It is the typically small, boring town filled with narrow-minded, opinionated people that, sadly, exist everywhere.

Obviously, being a 19-year-old in such a town can hardly be easy. What is more sad is the fact that Ana had to grow up at a very young age - she was only 13 when her mother died, leaving a heartbroken father that soon fell into the clutches of "The Dragon": a woman not much older than Ana, actually, who set her sights upon him and got pregnant very quickly. Needless to say, Ana's father was not a very smart man. The only good thing that came out of it is Sam, Ana's adorable six-year-old brother, who she has practically raised herself since the day he was born.
Ana works in her mother's pie shop, baking and selling pies all day long, side by side with her best friend, Holly, bored out of her mind and dreaming of better things to come.

Then enters our tattooed, rough-around-the-edges, bad-boy, Elijah Cade...He is just what every mother warns her daughter to stay away from, of course, and exactly what every girl dreams about.

Well, enough said about Elijah's gorgeousness! Elijah is...
