I've been using the calendula diaper care by weleda for about 5 months now at each diaper change and it's kept probably 90% of the rashes away in comparison to a 'normal' expectation. However, there are some times when you just can't avoid the rashes and in those instances, they're heavy and the weleda itself isn't enough to soothe the baby. In those instances I apply the weleda like normal, during each change, but a heavier rash repairing cream is definitely required. My cream of choice that works well with weleda is destin; Desitin Creamy Diaper Rash Ointment - 4 oz. + FREE Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion Fragrance Free - 8 oz..

It's a very thick ointment unlike weleda which is a light lotion type of application. Destin works for those horrible rashes that have the baby kicking and screaming. Weleda is just a little too thin to really penetrate and work deep in the skin in those instances. Apply the cream and the baby should calm down pretty quickly. Add a layer of weleda for good measure since it soaks in quickly it helps work the thicker stuff through as well.

Basically, the weleda is great and it helps keep away most diaper rashes and cure very light cases. In extreme cases, you're still gonna need a heavier option.

and I'm not even talking about considering the typical crappy brands (Johnsons, Butt Paste, Desitin, and other crap). I'm talking about comparing it with Mustela, Lavanila, Burts Bees, California Baby etc. This cream is wonderfully smelling, smooth spreading, easily cleaning, just plain good stuff! It has a large enough to be effective but not excessive dose of zinc oxide and herbal calendula in a high dose for effective ingredients. My baby is 7mo and I've tried them all. I won't buy another tube of anything else ever again. Every diaper change, every time. And I keep loving it! PS I use all the other Weleda Baby products because I LOVE how it smells and I see how well they work without any irritation.

This product works well in calming eczema outbreaks. it seems to sooth skin and moisturize much faster than steroid cream or other ointments.

I do not have kids but I got this diaper rash cream because I saw on some social media that it works well for pimples of you can use it as a mask!

It definitely works to use it for pimples or a mask! Just dab it on a pimple and it will be ready to pop by the lording!

I also use it as a mask and I have always struggled with my skin but this diaper rash cream leaves it looking glowing and so smooth! It also evens out the tone of my skin and takes out my blackheads very quickly on my nose area!

So not your typical review but it's definitely worth a shot to try! It definitely worked for me even though I had always struggled with my skin!

Also in addition to this, I normally don't wear make up so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it too. But even right after I use it as a mask I can right away tell a difference in the smooth appearance of my skin.

This is hands-down the best baby diaper cream. We've tried all the major brands, including Burt's Bee's, and California Baby, and this stuff is thicker and easier to spread than the others. Our baby had a terrible diaper rash that wasn't going away, even after a full week of keeping Desitin on the baby. 24 hours after using Weleda Calendula, the diaper rash was almost completely gone.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this diaper cream!
My baby had a very persistent raw skin kind of rash since birth that lasted 5-6 weeks- even my doctor couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go away.
She told me to try different types of creams - particularly recommending 'Boudreaux's Butt Paste'. That one, for some reason, made the rash get bigger. Desitin didn't do anything. A&D, Aquaphor, coconut oil, - NOTHING. Until I finally tried this cream. Not only did it clear the rash in a few days- it keeps my baby's bottom super soft. Love the subtle scent too.
One slight drawback is that there is some liquid that seems to be separated from the cream, so when I squeeze the tube, there will always be a small drizzle of liquid that comes out together with the cream.
Also, I wish the tube cap was a flip top - and not a screw on.
However - I still love this diaper cream and will continue to use it.

When my daughter was 16 months old, she developed a chronic diaper rash all of sudden. She generally hadn't had too many issues with diaper rash and on the occasional instances when she did, I used A&D Ointment which usually cleared it right up. This time, A&D didn't work. Neither did Boudreaux's Butt Paste, Mustela Vitamin Barrier Cream or Triple Paste Ointment. I realized during that time that most diaper rash treatments consisted of either Zinc Oxide or Petrolatum as it's active ingredient so there really didn't seem to be any reason that any of these creams should work differently from each other but I have to say that the Weleda cream was the only thing that took care of diaper rash. I don't know if it's the calendula but whatever it is, it WORKS. I've used this every night now on my daughter once her diaper rash cleared up and she hasn't had a recurrence since (she's two now). I now have a 3 month old boy and use this on him as well whenever I see any redness. This cream is a little more costly but definitely worth the money.
