Yes the higher end more expensive pedals are probably lighter, and probably have less friction in the bearings. However if your just out riding for fun/exercise like me, these work great. No problems clipping feet in an out, even have some pretty nasty looking scuffs, and scrapes on them. I had them on a mountain bike to start, and have moved them to my cross bike. However I don't ride them on rough trails, the scrapes have come from riding too close to curbs. Nothing like squeezing between that car parked in the bike lane and the curb. To end up landing your pedal on the curb and getting the bike kicked sideways so that your arm hits the side mirror of the car. At least it was a break away mirror, and I only had a nasty bruise, and not a broken arm. leason learned I only coast through with the curb side pedal up when making that tight fit now.

    **UPDATE ON 1/7/14**

Earlier today, my wife was riding the exercise bike and one of the pedals completely came apart, and it is beyond repair. The whole pedal came off the central shaft that runs through the center of the pedal, loose bearings and all. After reading the other negative reviews, I see that I am not alone with this problem. Over the past year, my wife and I have used the pedals maybe 5 hours per week. Brand new pedals should last more than 260 hours before self-destructing. FAIL!

    **ORIGINAL REVIEW ON 12/29/12**

I bought these inexpensive pedals as replacements for the original pedals on my LeMond exercise bike. Installation was a snap, and my wife and I are both very happy with them. They are quite tiny compared to any other MTB pedals I have seen, but they work perfectly. In addition, the metal pieces on the bottom of my biking shoes were really worn, which made inserting my shoes into the pedals a bit more challenging. Fortunately, like virtually all MTB pedals, these came with a set of shoe attachments. I simply unscrewed the old pieces from my shoes and screwed in the new ones. Now, my shoes work like brand new in these sleek and functional pedals. Buy with confidence. These pedals are winners.

I purchased this directly from Amazon.com and they arrived with defective bearings. I went with Shimano PD-M520 instead, and they're worth every penny.

Odd size 9/16 and the nut portion is soft but the pedals perform as well as my Shimanos. They come with pedal inserts to use with regular shoes but they are cheap and lasted my daughter about 20 minutes before falling off.

I love this pedal because it has the clip on both sides. I never need to look down to see if the clip is ready to use.

It works well even when caked in mud.

This was purchased as a spare pair because I don't want to be caught empty if it is ever discontinued.

    Cheers.

These pedals work well for our group rides. They are fast to clip into and get out of which is important to stay with the pace line when accelerating from lights. For competition, where there are few if any stops, I recommend the Look Keo series.

I've owned it for 6 months. I did a century ride and a half iron on these so far and they work well.

I got them reasonably fast. Installed them and the cleats on my shoes without any problem. I adjusted the retention and the retention bolt snapped off the pedal. Extremely disappointed with the product, I wouldn't recommend them to a friend.
