This dry dog food is specially formulated for adult, non-reproducing dogs over one year old. Puppies and pregnant or nursing mothers may have special nutritional requirements. See special flavor formulations for puppies in the CORE products chart below.
Your pet may tend to eat more of CORE dry dog food.
Watch initially to see if you need to adjust regular eating patterns. Give your dog access to clean, cool fresh water at all times, and feed Wellness CORE in combination whenever possible to increase the level of water in your dog's diet. Nutrition is the foundation of well-being, but be sure to give your dog plenty of love, exercise and see your veterinarian regularly!
It is important to slowly transition to a new diet.
It takes a few days for your pet's body to adapt to the new nutrient levels in CORE dog food. To transition, gradually mix in CORE dog food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness CORE by day 7.

#1) surprise. The bag could almost fit inside my dog's bowl.
2) He seemed to like it. It disappeared very quickly.
3) The ingredients look like a more natural diet.
4) I saw positive reviews from a knowledgeable group on another site prior to my ordering.
Several hours later, my dog became quite ill. He was gasping and trying to throw up, looked almost like he was having a seizure. We were very worried. He was sick for more than a day, and refused to eat the next day.
I am not 100% positive that this is what did it, but it is the only change from routine and this has never happened before although we have fed him a number of different foods (albeit,. most recommended by our vet). Our dog is 12 years old, and this has never happened before.
This sounded like something I would buy and had positive feedback elseplace, though I can not vouch for the source, or others experience. It was enough to get me to try it, but this experience was enough to make me shy away from trying other new products.
It was awful, very scary.
As of now I can not recommend this. As I said, I am not 100% sure this is what made him ill, but it is the most likely culprit, and there is nothing else we know of which could have done it.
I am not going to give it to him again to see if it continues to make him sick, We are pretty fond of our dog. My son is very unhappy with me now, and I can understand why. I was up half the night worried about our dog.
As of the time of this writing, I can not recommend it to others. I would, in fact,be inclined to warn people off.
If others report a different experience, mine may have been idiosyncratic, but, that was our experience.
I have removed my original review. The high points are summarized above. I would rate my personal experience with the product as 1 star, but added a second, as I am not 100% sure that this is what caused it. There was nothing else different, buit it could have been a germ? or something else I am not aware of.

Why is there green tea extract in dog food? I'm wondering why no one seems to be asking this question or concerned about this, there's tons of reports, even testing that shows its toxic, and who needs to caffeinate their dogs?
You can also google Dr. Peter Bobias, he has a huge article that states that a study was done in 2011 and
study revealed that "green tea extracts can cause lethal liver, gastrointestinal, and renal toxicities in fasted dogs. The main findings were necrosis of the liver cells, gastrointestinal lining, kidney damage, degeneration of reproductive organs, and bone marrow disorders.*" He flat out says there is a big debate about it, but why would you even risk it? --------- THAT IS MY POINT
Had I known there was green tea, I wouldn't have requested this, even if it is free. It's not worth testing out on my dogs.
**********I love how all the wellness lovers said my review isn't useful, even though it was the first one to say DON'T FEED THIS TO YOUR DOG> There are other dog foods that are starting to put green tea and when I stated that it's toxic, I got thumbs up not down. Some people are blinded by ignorance!
