Do you know that happy feeling not only in your stomach like butterflies, but real happiness just while reading a great book? This one made me feel that happy and butterfly feeling!!
This isn't a typical billionaire story it's much more than that.
It begins with Noah's pov from the past and then in Lotty's pov.
There is a lot more to it but I don't want to ruin it so I'm not going to give much.
I have a soft spot for the name Noah, maybe that's because Michelle Hodkin made a swoony Noah.
So now I just swoon for the name alone, is that weird or normal? Let's keep it on normal.
Noah had a best friend Q I can't remember the whole name because it was to hard to pronounce for me so it was Q for me. He is a brit (yeey and so damn funny!
Lotty has a best friend Kiera who is a fashion girl with a horny side.
This are a few quotes that made me feel extra happy:
"So, what are you going to do? Bully me into a relationship with you?" The bastard grins. " Nope."
This was so damn funny until Lotty had a different problem.
"Now", he begins, tone challenging, "I dare you to lust after Briggs while this"-his hips thrust forward to indicate his hard-on "is right here."
And this is why I like Lotty. She has no filter.
"Open your mouth. I want to smell it." His eyebrows kiss the sky. "You want to smell my mouth?" "Yes."
"Lotty...babe, if we do this, if we have sex, I own you. I want you to think about that before we go any further.
This made me feel swoony and giggly :p From Noah to Lotty
I want you to enjoy being owned by me. I want you to brag about me like I would about you I want you to take pleasure in being just mine, and be secure in knowing I'm just yours. I want you to be happy.
Heroine also told him she was in love with him, he didnt say it back for a long time, just was all happy that she said it. I thought with a blurb like that, he would at least say it back right away, if not be the one to admit it first, seeing as he wanted to own her and all that.
Now, I want to underline that the book was very well written, it is obvious a lot of effort was put into liking it and the main reason I did not like it was because I went in expecting the kind of hero I like to read about, someone who would pursue the heroine like the synopsis lead me to believe, but instead the heroine was pretty much doing all the chasing (except for two conversations in the middle of the book when hero says he wants a proper relationship while she just wants fun) and I got so over the way the hero kept pushing her away and essentially breaking up with her twice when she couldn't give him everything he wanted (he wanted to basically own her while she had just gotten out of a stifling, abusive relationship).
If you like books with semi alphahole heroes and you dont mind the hot/cold mood swings and the heroine doing most of the chasing, then I think this could be a 5 star read. It just really wasn't for me.
In One word it is - Compelling!
In Two words it is - Utterly Fascinating!
In Three words it is - Just! So! Good!
I was totally hooked by page 5 of the prologue! Never, have I ever, read a book with this type of storyline. In fact, the storyline is so unique, I would be giving away spoilers just telling you about it!
Let me at least give you a few adjectives/nouns to peek your interest: Desire! Fear! Bravery! Lust! Sexy! Brooding! Feisty! Funny! Billionaire!
Here is the premise ...... two 'very different individuals', who are barely acquaintances, Nate Van Der Wells and Charlotte Cooley, strike up an unlikely conversation which leads them to spending time together and actually enjoy each other's company. When BAM, out of the blue, Charlotte disappears, leaving Nate desperately hoping he runs into her again! He gets his wish a few years later, except now these two 'very different individuals' are 'completely different'. Confused yet? I am hoping you are and equally intrigued, because it is pure reading enjoyment to find out what the heck I am rambling on about!
..... "I used to be so blind in love with that woman. So, I went back, soaked it all up. All of which I'd beg for as her husband and she'd refuse, now she's giving those things willingly. I made her fall in love with me. Because, my whole life, it was all I'd ever wanted from her. Her love. ....... And when she finally did, finally gave me all of her, I hated her. I hate her with such passion that I've pulled her closer instead of kicking her out of my life. You might think that doesn't make any sense, but it does to me."
Gosh, this book!!!
And yes, for whatever reason there are some typos, but I was able to read right through them in absolute anticipation of what was going to happen next!
