The strap appears to be nylon with leather or fake leather added in places, apparently for style. The strap has a handsome look and appears sturdy. The strap should fit most people with medium to large wrists but may be too big for small wrists. My wrist at the narrowest point, which is where I wear the watch, is 7.5 inches around. If cinched tight I use the 3rd hole and if slightly loose the 4th hole. There are eight hole positions available. However if you need to use the 7th or 8th hole the end of the strap will be too short for the slider to slip over and it will serve no purpose; it could be cut off however so it wouldn't be in the way.Read more ›
Anyway, more on topic to the watch.
First off, I was never annoyed with this watch on any level. It is pretty damn comfortable and simple. Its easy to read while moving around or running. Its extremely simple to change the time and date (like on most watches) and its not pretentious in looks or colors.
That said though, there are a couple things to note. The watch band is a strange nylon and fake-leather at the ends and on the latch. While this never proved to be a problem on the comfort, style or durability level (at least for 4 or 5 years), it proved to be a problem later when the watch band started to smell in the nylon parts. Since it is a bunch of strands of nylon weaved together, it absorbs sweat over time and the smell basically never comes out. This is only noticeable (in my case) when you are specifically smelling the watch, which during regular use doesn't happen anyway.
The watch in terms of mechanical durability is pretty wicked. Considering I got it when I was just 12 years old, I bashed it around like crazy and not only does the watch still work, but the outer shell and the crystal is still completely unscratched. The watch's only weakpoint is the strap. While the nylon is brilliant in terms of lightness, breatheability and strength, the pseudo-leather at the latch and the ends of the strap are not nearly as strong.Read more ›
It's the perfect watch for when you want all black.
The strap is OK. It's a little overdone with the nylon + leather, but it's confortable enough. I may go to a NATO strap at some point just to be more hip, but that's a very inexpensive modification.
I plan for this to be my everyday watch. I have several others, including very expensive mechanical watches, but I don't want to wear those all the time.
This watch is a fantastic deal for $75. There's another review here that says it's overpriced, but that's absolutely not true for the price I paid.

Bad company to deal with. Watch is good, but bracelet broke in less than a year. Wenger does not sell replacements, and they are unavailable elsewhere. Read morePublished 5 months ago by Mark Weis
Love the looks of the watch, but it stopped working several times during the first year, even after replacing the battery twice.Published 15 months ago by Kimberly Nelson
I bought this watch in 2013 and don't regret it. I wanted a military looking watch since I was in the military and it the look. It's light weight and slim looking. 2 thumbs upPublished 16 months ago by James
Would definitely not buy again. The case is a lighter color than pictured. I dropped it once while setting the time, and the movement broke. Read morePublished 18 months ago by Lem0nbread
