I ordered the Stanley 62-509 8-3/4-Inch Multi-Bit Ratcheting Screwdriver with 6 Assorted Bits for $11 and I ordered this Wera for $32. That's a lot for a screwdriver but I have to say it is worth every penny. It is incredibly well made. It is not ratcheting like the Stanley but it is still miles ahead in quality and construction. The Stanley stores its bits in the butt of the handle which you have to unscrew. By doing this you can loose the end cap of the Stanley which would mean that you could no longer store the bits. The Wera stores the bits inside the handle as well but there is nothing to loose. You push the butt of the screwdriver and a secret compartment pops open full of bits. You don't have to dump out all the bits to find the one you want like you do on the stanley - they are all snapped in their individual compartments so there is no danger of loosing them. The bits of the Wera also have their sizes printed on the sides. The main shaft of the Wera can be extended so the screw driver is normal length when extended and more compact when retracted. It can also be taken out completely and used in a drill or driver.

Overall, excellent design and construction quality. Feels great in the hand.

I really enjoy using this screwdriver. The shaft feels loose, but it holds. The bit change mechanism is great, seems to know what I want to do.

I've replaced all the bits with Wera's diamond coated bits. The diamond bits grip the screw head significantly better and are a joy to use. The bits fit and work in this screwdriver just as the original bits do.

I was never really into these multi-bit drivers as majority of the onces I've tried in the past were sub-par quality (lots of play), and the tips easily fell off. But not this Wera!

I like how the driver tips lock in place securely, how the shaft extends, how the total unit has very little play. The pop-out holder for the bits is very cool too. The bits come out of the holder easily. Overall a very nice fit and finish.

Highly recommended for those jobs that do not require screw driving in tight space.

Get this square bit to make your driver complete! This adapter fits inside the bit compartment.

**update**
The driver literally fell apart, core just slipped right out onto my floor, 2 springs, two retaining balls, collars, etc.
I only use this tool on occasion, NEVER dropped or abused. I can't believe this. So mad.

The basic screwdriver is an important tool. I use a variety them every day. I bought this driver because I needed a Phillips #3 driver and something that could drive a bunch of different hex sizes. It accepts the all of the standard bits that work with my quick change drill driver so I am not limited to the bits that came with it. It is compact so I can wear it in the belt pouch on the job all day without it being annoying.

Update!!! 5 stars down to 3. Be careful not to pull this screwdriver apart. I used it with some hex tools with a tight fit and ended up pulling the handle apart when I tried to pull the driver out of the bolt. The good news is that it is not too hard to pack the springs and parts back together. The extra bad news is now it happens somewhat frequently.

It's compact but can do the job of many full-size screw drivers. It's intelligently designed in Germany. It's beautifully made in the Czech Republic. You certainly can find many cheaper options next to the checkout counter at Home Depot, but life is too short for sweatshop manufactured tools. I think I will give some of these as holiday presents.

From a functional perspective, I'd probably prefer my Klein Tools 11-in-one screwdriver which has all these bits and several openings for hex head screws. It also has a better grip.

From a cost perspective, I'd definitely prefer the Klien Tools yellow and black 11-in-one screwdriver.

Something about this though is awesome. It's ingenious. It feels like a gadget, the bits are always there, it folds to a compact size and extends when necessary. I love the fact I can snap the end out and use it in the impact drill. The bits lock into place and don't end up stuck in the screw or dropped on the floor.

The pouch is nice, but again, none of these things alone make this awesome. There's just something about it.

If you have the money, it's definitely worth trying out and you'll love it. If you're really just looking for a cheap screwdriver that does everything, get a Klein Tools or craftsman.
