The fact of the matter is, the Mi'kmaq had the numbers to annihilate the early settlers but did not because of their spiritual beliefs. As a result the so called civilized settlers annihilated them.
I rated this four stars because it is academic in nature with footnotes and large tracts of quotes, making the reading hard going. It is well edited however, and no doubt quite accurate.
