Bringing with them, New problems and happiness but I think that is all I will say you should read and enjoy this e-book.
Milly is the waitress at the diner in the tiny, supernatural town of Forever, which reminded me of Charlaine Harris's Midnight, Texas. Milly can't read minds like Sookie Stackhouse, but she can shapeshift at will into a werewolf. She doesn't even have to wait for the full moon.
One thing is missing from Milly's life, though: unlike most of the werewolves in Forever, she is unmated. Like Jacob Black in Twilight, she expects to "imprint" on someone - maybe two or more someones. It appears that polyandry is not unknown among these particular wolves. In this regard, they're not unlike the wolfish Chanku in Kate Douglas's Wolf Tales series.
I'm a big fan of paranormal romances, so I enjoyed that this mythological territory was somewhat familiar from some of my other favorite series.
Like clockwork, Milly's perfect matches seem to come along in the forms of California transplants Dan and Matthew Hudson. But Dan and Matthew bring a bit of baggage - their 15-year-old niece Riley, whose parents were killed in a car accident. Her uncles are her surrogate parents.
Riley does NOT warm up to Milly quickly. Cue the dramatic suspense: Riley's unwise flirtation with some immature teenage vampires leads the vamps to kidnap and attempt to sacrifice her for a ritual. Bravely, Milly offers herself in exchange for Riley. She's rescued by the brothers before the vampires kill her, and Milly-Riley relationship is permanently turned around.
So Milly gets her perfect mates and her happy ending. Who could ask for anything more?
On the cover art, it's not possible to tell which sexy brother is Matthew and which is Dan, but one has short hair and one has longish hair that tucks behind his ear. Dare I say they look a bit like a certain pair of demon-hunting brothers from a certain CW TV series?
I purchased this paperback with my own funds and was not obligated to review it in any way. This review represents my own honest opinion.
Milly Swinson as owner and operator of Milly's Coffee Spot has watched love come into the lives of many of her friends. She is truly happy for them, but cannot help but wonder if she will ever find her true mates if she remains in Forever. Just as she prepares to leave to look for them Matthew and Dan Hudson travel into town and find her. There, unfortunately, is an obstacle in the way of her own personal happily ever after in the form of their niece Riley.
When Riley makes is known she will never accept Milly in any way in her life, Dan and Matthew must make a choice. The woman they want forever or the niece they have promised to raise and protect. Then Riley is kidnapped and they rush to rescue her before the choice is made for them by a sect of vampires out to sacrifice Riley to their sect. Little do the men realize Milly is in trouble as well!
Finally! I have been waiting to see if Milly would have a story of her own. She is one of the few characters mentioned in every book in some way. She is warm, open and friendly and gives so much of herself to help others. Like most of the people of the picturesque town of Forever, Texas, she is loyal to the ones she cares about and the town they live in.
Jane Jamison has created a place where life may be simple, but no less desirable to the average person, even if it is only for the short time we take to read the story she had written for us to enjoy. Readers get a touch of humor, a dash danger and a whole lot of sexual tension and action.
From the moment you open the first page until you read the last word you are transported to another place where everyone will soon know your name and just about everything else about you. If they like you, you may never want to leave. If they don't you may not get out of town fast enough.
You will never be bored with Ms. Jamison's creative talent and if we are lucky we will be blessed with many more chances to enjoy her works. This is the ninth book in the Werewolves of Forever, Texas series. It can be read as a standalone, but to get the full effect of the storyline and how the different characters interact with the story and each other you will need to read the full series in order.
Don't miss your chance to enjoy a great read by a fantastic author. Pick up a copy of Wild for Milly for yourself and join us in Forever, Texas for a time to remember.
