This Wesco 240081 drum truck has a 1,000-lb. capacity and can be used for transporting 30-gal., 55-gal., and 85-gal. industrial drums made of steel, fiber, or plastic, except overpack drums. It has a 1" structural pipe frame and double-welded joints for strength. The truck measures 23.75 x 24 x 59.75 inches (W x D x H) overall. (W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back; H is height, the vertical distance from bottom to top.) It has a floating axle for reduced break-over and load balancing effort, has two 10" moldon rubber wheels for maneuverability, and comes with a replaceable load belt. This drum truck is suitable for use in industrial and commercial material handling applications.
Hand trucks, also known as two-wheeled dollies, are used to transport heavy or bulky items, especially in commercial product distribution and delivery. Hand trucks are L-shaped, with handles at the top, two wheels at the bottom, and a small platform that touches the ground when the truck is upright. A load is placed on the platform and the truck is tilted back, balancing the weight over the wheels. Powered hand trucks have a platform that lifts the load up, or lowers it down, to reduce human labor. Some hand trucks may be convertible to platform trucks for moving large or cumbersome loads. Others fold flat for storage.
Wesco manufactures material handling equipment under the Wesco and Lexco brands. The company, founded in 1948, is headquartered in North Wales, PA.
