This clock shipped quicker than expected from UK. The only disappointment is that the digital readout is rather small. My grandson, age 5, is VERY happy with it. I think that is the best recommendation. Instructions are good and the battery comes with it.

Our 11 yr old grandson wanted this for Christmas this year, and I found a reasonable price on Amazon. Could not believe what some other places were asking for this alarm clock. Shipped from United Kingdom, arrived within 6 days of ordering. Not well packaged (box within which clock came was a bit "crushed" on one end, but did not affect the clock --- the box had been inserted into a bubble-wrap envelope).
VERY small, but nicely detailed design on R2D2. Does everything that it claims to do. Our grandson enjoys it very much.

The clock is super cute. But I think the description should tell you that the packaging is in a foreign language. We bought this for a gift basket to raise money and I don't want the buyer thinking we got a knock-off. I appreciate the English instruction sheet they included separately, apparently from previous feedback. I'm actually not sure what language it on the outside of the box, but guessing German. With the feedback on batteries being DOA, I guess we will also spring for some extra batteries to go in with the unit so the new owner isn't disappointed.

So the unit looks nice and arrived safely - we haven't used it, but recommend the seller add the fact that the packaging is not in English (but again thanks for the information sheet in English that you included.)

Clock is perfect size for a child. When I received the clock and took off all the protective plastic strips it didn't work. I put new batteries in it and it suddenly came to life.

This is a great little toy/clock and my Nephew loved it. The sounds the clock makes sounds just like in the movie. I only wish the projection of the time onto the wall was on all the time. :) Would recommend this to any little Star Wars fan!

This Clock is great for the Star Wars fan. My son loves that it make all kinds of R2-D2 noise when you press the DEMO button. But that is also the only time it Projects the time on the ceiling/wall, other than when the alarm is going off.

I would have thought that a PROJECTOR CLOCK would project the time ALL the time. That would not be to much of a problem except the that only other way to read the time in on a tiny little screen, which does not light up so it can not be read at night. And if you press the DEMO button in the middle of the night you get a lot of R2-D2 noise, that wakes up Mommy ;(

this was a chrismas gift for my nine year old whom asked santa for an alarm clock. Its very simple and does take batteries that have lasted since christmas. This little guy is not really a clock his an alarm clock. He does tell time but the display is too small to see from across the room. Bought as a present for my Dad who absolutely loved it! We were impressed with the accuracy and detail of the paintwork on the clock. The projection light works well although it is a shame that this is the only proper way to clearly see the time. It's a fun idea but when it then cues R2D2 to bleep away every time, it doesn't make it the most convenient or practical way to get the time especially in the middle of the night. There is a very small digital dial showing the time but as I say, not the clearest or easiest to see even in daytime.
Despite this, the high quality finish makes it a great little piece to have on any Star Wars fan's beside table.

A great gift for any Star Wars fan. Sure it's only an alarm clock but it looks cool and it's R2D2 ! The buttons take a while to get used to and as a clock it's very impractical as the window is so small you can't see what it says until your about 8 inches away. The display does not light up so you cannot see the time at night which is annoying. The alarm is great - Loud and reliable. I have had mine three years and never had to change the battery. The projector is a nice gimmick and is very appealing to youngsters. Don't drop it though - my R2 unit is now missing a leg having been knocked off the bedside cabinet.

So noisy!! The alarm noise itself is the R2D2 bleeping noise, which is not a pleasant way of being woken up. It doesn't have a snooze button?? So on the off chance you've fallen back asleep after your heart attack, you're buggered. And the screen displaying the time is miniscule - if you actually want to see what the time is, you have to ensure you're in a darkened room, press the projection button, and put up with that irritating bloody beeping again. Seriously wish I hadn't bought this for my husband

This is a plastic R2 D2 figure, which contains a small digital clock. The time can be projected onto the wall or the ceiling in the dark. The digital display on the figure doesn't light up.

The clock works on batteries - there isn't the facility to attach a mains lead. Whilst this is better for the concept of the R2D2 - it will mean changing batteries from time to time.

Love Starwars? This is a great display product but I found as an alarm I wanted to murder R2-D2. If you can work out the buttons and settling which I found a bit confusing and don't mind the very accurate sounds its great. The projecting clock is quite good too, very clear. He no longer speaks but is a display on my desk!
