Pros of the G-40:
Appears to be well made
Digital display has large graphics
Very quiet (compared to old model)
Powerful 2.25 HP motor
Easy to set up
Hardware separated and clearly marked
Wider 16" walking belt
Cons of G-40
Safety foot rails a little too narrow
Digital display needs a backlight
The eight feet that support the treadmill are hard plastic and will scratch floor.
Warranty is ONLY 90 days
This model is made in China (not sure if a con - we'll see if it lasts)
Handrails should have a thick (soft) foam cover on the ends to protect from bruises when swinging arms!
My wife and I still use this treadmill every day for 20 minutes each. I do not run on it but do walk at 3.5 mph and it is still working like new!
I have moved and after (the treadmill) survived 3 months of storage and an 1100 mile move, we are again using it. Again, I have had no problems. One note: I am removing the screws that hold the motor housing on every six months to vacuum out dust that seems to accumulate around the motor and electronics board. I recommend any owner do this (after removing the plug) and periodically, spray the underside of the belt (part you walk on) with 100% silicone spray. That small amount of maintenance keeps it running like new.
I just noticed some one star reviews, so I'm not sure if I received the lucky unit, or quality is slipping, or what????
It's a cheap treadmill. The speed varies noticeably with each step. It doesn't come with foam on the handles. It doesn't adjust pitch very much.
But it works great for me. It wasn't expensive, and I'm feeling much better with regular exercise. There's nothing about it I wouldn't expect given its low price.
CADENCE BY WESLO IS THE WORST OF ANY FITNESS PRODUCT. DO NOT TRY TO SAVE A FEW $, YOU ARE ONLY WASTING YOUR $$. GET A GOOD ONE TO BEGIN WITH FROM A BETTER COMPANY.
I DID NOT BUY THE TREADMILL FROM AMAZON. I DO BUY EVERYTHING ELSE FROM AMAZON.
