Product Description

Size: X-Small | Color: Chocolate

Perfect dreams start with the perfect bed. Made from soft and cozy fabric, our Nature Nap mats are where dreams begin. Unlike other mats on the market, our custom designed fabric has a poly-knit backing that interlocks the fibers to add strength and reduce shedding without sacrificing softness. Extra layer of padding is comprised of 50-percent recycled IntelliLoft fiber batting, which is carefully sewn inside to eliminate bunching and create a raised edge for added support and comfort. Earth tone colors make these mats the perfect companion in any environment. Made to be compatible with standard size kennels. Entire Nature Nap stands up to multiple machine washings. Made in Montana, USA.

I purchased this bed, size small in Cardinal red, one year ago as a crate liner for the Midwest Life Stages crate model #1624, which is 24 inches long. It fits perfectly in the crate, and is also a terrific stand-alone bed. I have washed this bed over 30 times, and it is still in like-new condition. When compared with every other dog bed and crate liner I have purchased through the years, which completely fall apart with repeated laundering, this bed is by far the best value around. My dog loves it, as well.

I feel obligated to write a review because my dog loves this mat! I got the medium in oatmeal for my 48lb mix. I pulled it out of the box, tossed it on the floor, and she immediately hopped on, circled a few times, and dropped off to sleep. I got this specifically for travel since it's so much smaller/lighter than her bed, but I may just have to leave this out for her to nap on because she has not gotten off of it. She likes to sleep curled up so it's a perfect fit, but if your dog is a sprawler a larger size may be best. It says it is machine washable, though I can't attest to how it holds up after several washes (yet).

I played around with size/color combos and got the medium for $14.83. Unfortunately it looks as though Amazon hiked the price back up, which is the only downside.

Happy snores!

This bed is soft and tough! We've had it for a little over a month and our doberman pup loves it! She chews on it, shakes it and drags it with her as she follows me from room to room. I don't think her sharp puppy teeth have caused any damage yet and I don't think they will. I have thrown it in the washer and dryer (not on high heat) at least 5 times and it looks exactly the same.

I really like that it is made from recycled materials and I am trying to buy another for when this is in the washer but the prices keep changing. Right now the prices are around $59 but I got a large for $35.

Update 2/14/12 - My golden retriever pup, now 11 weeks old, loves this bed! When I leave him in the yard to go to the store or run errands, I toss it on the patio and every time I come home he's sound asleep on it. He also plays with it like a big stuffed toy and so far has done zero damage to it. (I did cut the label off) I am so pleased with this bed that I increased my rating from 4 stars to 5 and I'm ordering another X-large for his upstairs crate. The thickness is not an issue for this pup. I have not washed it yet but I'm convinced it will wash up well due to the excellent quality and workmanship of this American made product.
************************************************************************************************************************
I ordered the large (35" X 22" X 3") in Oat Bone. All the dimensions are correct except for the thickness. Here are the thicknesses as measured with a tape measure: The four corners are each 2.5" thick and fully packed (stiff); the rest of the 4 edges are no more than 1.75" thick; the base is 1" thick at best. When shopping for a dog bed aren't you really just interested in how thick the area is that the dog will sleep on? Advertising a dog bed as 3" thick just because the corners are close to that is ludicrous. If you are looking for a cushy, 3" thick padded bed, look elsewhere. However, it does fit my large Vari-Kennel shipping crate pretty well and is made in the USA, which is a big plus. Even with 1" of padding it should be fine for a younger dog because the padding seems quite firm and doesn't compress to zero like some low quality beds. We'll see how it holds up over time. My main complaint is with Amazon as far as false advertising. This is the second product I've purchased in the last week that was not as advertised.

A Kid's Review on January 12, 2011
Size: SmallColor: Cardinal
I bought this for my 7 month old Havanese puppy. He had torn all other beds to pieces, and I was not going to buy another bed for him until I saw the reviews on this one. I have to say that it held up very well, but my puppy was obsessing over the tag, and he managed to chew a tiny hole in it where the tag was. I removed the tag shortly after I got the bed, but there was still a small piece remaining, and that was all it took. I would have given it a perfect score if it came with an easy to remove tag.
This bed is very well made, and I will purchase another one if this one wears out. (I will make sure I cut all of the tag off before he gets a hold of it:)
Do not hesitate to buy this. It is very well constructed.

This is my 2nd Nature Nap. My first one was purchased for my Lab puppy. It worked great at first. It held up very well in the washer and dryer after accidents. My puppy loved it as well, I think she found it very confortable. Unfortunately, once she was about 8 months old, her jaw became strong enough to destroy the mat.

I now have a new puppy and got her a new mat. I'm hoping she isn't as strong a chewer and that it lasts longer. So far so good. The new puppy loves this mat too!

Size: X-LargeColor: Beach Glass Verified Purchase
Over the last year I ended up buying 4 of these XL West Paw Nature Naps, in the Beach Glass Blue! 2 of the mats we use on top of the cot-style Kuranda dog beds in our house that didn't have any padding on them. The other 2 mats we use in our dogs crates. I also use these mats for travel in our SUV. Both dogs seem to really love these mats. I've washed them all a number of times & they always come out looking new again. I am very happy with these & happy that my dogs love them & haven't destroyed them. Some other mats that looked similar to these but were made in China & a lot less expensive did not hold up at all. For some reason both our dogs kept trying to rearrange the cheap ones & pretty much destroyed them with in a few days. Because of what happened to the cheap mats, I really kept my eyes on the dogs when I first gave them these new Nature Nap mats. I really expected both dogs to start digging in them just like they did to the cheap ones. To my surprise, neither dog did. They just flopped down on them like they had had them forever. No digging, no tearing or attempting to re-arrange them! I guess West Paw has just the correct design to these mats that dogs really like! You do have to realize that these are mats so they are flatter & not real thick with padding. They are not supposed to be fluffy beds. For our needs, these work out great!
