As has been mentioned elsewhere; The C-Thru B-50 ruler was two pieces molded together with the ruler/grid printing sandwiched between them. The bevel was also angled in such a way that the numbers were readable and your drawing utensil would not need to be drawing under the ruler itself. The two layered molding of the ruler also made it stiffer and stable.
The Westcott B-50 Ruler is 1-piece with the bevel in the opposite direction so that you either have legible numbers or a usable edge for drawing. The single ply manufacturing also makes it so the ruler is flimsier creating wavy lines and if you are using the bevel for drawing the raised printing will drag across your drawing smudging your work.
I have written Westcott and received no response and have been searching for the perfect ruler since (only found others more useable with their own faults). All I can suggest is keep your eyes out for the old C-Thru branded rulers and stock up until westcott corrects their manufacturing or someone out there makes a better ruler.
The C-Thru company is gone, now part of Acme United. Sorry we have lost another quality product.
