These are particularly great because they cut right up to the very tip, which is nice in those small, hard to reach places. There's something wrong with the manufacture of these scissors. The quality control just isn't there at all. If you're willing to file burrs off the blades and sharpen them, fine then- go ahead. But, frankly, for just a few coins more you can get a better pair from Fiskars in the same format- but those have smoothly operating blades (these don't) and much more comfortable handles (these are oddly shaped- which at these dimensions can be problematic.)

Seriously- I thought I'd forgotten how to use scissors at first as they weren't cutting tissue. (Tissue!) Turns out it was some defects on the blades that were keeping them apart- a little microfile action and they work well enough (just stick in some spots still- not smooth.) But they were cheap. I'll put 'em in the caddy and reach for them never since I have a Fiskars pair and some scary antique german scissors that I far prefer.

Lesson learned.

I do many arts and crafts. I have various scissors but needed a sharp shorter pair to cut intricate things. I had went to Michael's and they were $20.00 For a pair of detail scissors. ☆ Quick tip if your scissors become dull, or paper punches, fold some aluminum foil and cut into it as much as you feel is needed. I just was told this last year and sharpened all if my other craft scissors. Also the Titanium was important due to it being the strongest material, and with mixed media art cutting paper a lot which dulls them faster than any cloth.

These were so great I bought 2 pairs. One for my husband who builds and repairs small electrical devices and Inhad ruined his. He said he likes these a lot better. I will likely buy a second pair for sewing needs. The only thing I would add is that little sleeve for storage. But that is in no way a negative. I highly recommend these.

However I found that the tip of the scissors, though very sharp, did not cut to the end as I needed it to do. I was doing intricate paper cutting and the pointed ends of the scissors did not work together to cut in small, tight spaces. I had to try ordering something else.

After having tried these, I find there are far better choices for the cost, here on Amazon.
Gotta keep it real, they arrive sharp but lacking in durability.

These scissors are EXTREMELY small. I used to use the Gingher, 5" craft scissors but they were discontinued so I was looking for a replacement. On most 5", craft scissors, the blade is at least 3" long. On these scissors, the blade is only 2.25" long, making them pretty much useless for anything other than clipping threads. I have small hands and my job requires me to do fine, detailed cutting of felt and other fabrics. I need a lightweight scissors b/c I am Doig it all day long, but the tiny blade on these makes it nearly impossible to get a purchase on the material I am working with.
I rarely leave reviews, but I feel it is important to clarify these scissors are NOT typical, for 5" craft scissors . In the event anyone else is looking for something similar to what I was looking for, they are sure to be disappointed.

I am very pleased that the company Westcott used Titanium, the handle makes it easy to use for a long period of time. It's small but that's ok fits great in my hand.
This pair of scissors I will only be using it for my crafts re: sewing, materials, paper, etc. If you don't use your scissors for anything else re: regular tape, masking tape, etc. it will ruin the sharpness of the blade and will make it very dull.

The inside of the holes for the fingers is covered by a material that prevents slipping and is comfortable as well. I was pleasantly surprised that after cutting adhesive tapes the blades were not sticky. I also like that the screw holding the blades together can be used to adjust the friction of the blades.

They're much smaller than I was expecting. When I read the description I thought the blades were 5 inches, not the whole scissors.
