Valuable info every freelancer should know
on June 16, 2013
This book will be of benefit to most freelancers, novice or not. Ms. Lewis describes the use of task-based logs to help freelancers know exactly how they spend their business time and explains how to use that knowledge to set the best rate. She describes multiple pricing strategies: hourly, per diem, unit pricing, and project based, and lets readers know how to decide which works best for them and for their business. She furthermore describes in detail how to do a year-end evaluation: of your clients, of your pricing strategies, and more. She encourages freelancers to value their own work and describes how to judge their worth and give themselves a raise. The advice in this book is extremely practical and is backed up with plenty of examples. If I were to make any negative comment it would be that in the Kindle version it is impossible to increase the size of the figures, making them difficult (at least for some of us) to read.
